Come on even Cameron jumped on the Bandwagon, using the MP's death in attempt to win back votes for remain.

Sickening.

I honestly do think that the People are following and defecting in droves, on the basis of using her death as a sympathy vote.

I don't think that remain has exploited the death, but they didn't have to. The national mood changed from defiant and optimistic, to sombre and reflective. That alone is to advantage of remain. The two day break in campaigning crushed all the momentum that leave was building too.
Totally agree with this.

Depends how you read the polls, there haven't really been any "clean" polls showing the effect before and after.

It is looking a lot more likely that remain will win though. Which is heartbreaking.

Correct, i don't think they did either.

One thing i hear a lot is that we can't let her murder be an attack on our democracy, who really thinks that it is?

Those that run to the polls to vote remain because we are all better off together?

Corbyn on Sky news now comparing the "welcome all" announcement by Merkel over a year ago to what the Jews faced in the 30's and 40's.

He's not a lover of the EU.

e: He come across well but i disagree with most of what he said regarding remain, he actually seems genuine for the most part, i agree on how he thinks the public view politics and politicians, and how he thinks it should change.

I did wonder what it'd've been like if they'd had fewer politicians and more authorative experts on TV etc. Say a question time with a panel of lawyers trying to give objective answers to questions on points of law etc. Another with economists giving explanations. Etc. Basically informing the public rather than having politicians rehashing tired debates week after week.

I wish they'd do this a lot more in general but our media does not seem to think it's their role to inform, merely to let others make arguments. Beyond a bit of fact checking and a few favoured talking heads we don't see much about reality on TV.

Mind you I don't think many people other than politicians would put up with the extreme rudeness that has become the modus operandi for most journalists these days.

Funny you say that, because I was coming on to post this:

BBC One, 7:30pm today, "The Big EU Reality Check"

http://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme/e/d7fdwz/the-big-eu-reality-check

I'm not sure who's going to be presenting it (probably a range of BBC News presenters) and I don't think it's going to be exactly what you're after (i.e. I doubt there will be a panel of experts), but if it's anything like the other reality check snippets it could be informative viewing :)

I believe only a third of us did

Actually not even that if you factor in that 33.6% did not vote, bringing the people who voted the current government to 22.31% of the registered voters.

Not even a quarter.

While 12.7% of the people who voted managed to elect 1 MP (UKIP), while SNP at 8.6% got 56, and even Sin Fein at 0.6% got 4MPs.

The fairness of our election system.

Journalists have to be rude to get any sort of answer, and it still doesnt stop the politicians reading the party line like they were born to do only that.

Just watching Corbyn on Sky News. He's coming across very well, imo.

He seems a genuine guy. For all the togetherness this week, they will all be tearing lumps out of each other again next week though. Think what they could achieve if they all worked together :(

Less still, we don't vote for our PM, just our MP. So factor in how many within the Tory party actually voted for him as leader. Certainly not every Tory voter, most aren't members.

I don't care what they say, it is what they actually do that matters

You obviously reject the idea that countries will act as they say they will. I don't see a good basis for doing so, however. Other countries are indicating they wont give us a preferential deal if we leave. Nor would it be any kind of quick thing for them to do so if they were willing.

and my opinion is that we will do just as well being out of the EU as being in the EU.

In contradiction to most people with expertise in high finance and international trade.

Do you believe them when they say those things?

Yes, because it would not be in their interests to give the UK some special deal outside of the EU.

would you believe them if they said they would give us better deals if we left?

No, because it would not be in their interests to give the UK some special deal outside of the EU.

EDIT: Wow. Ninja'd almost word for word by AmigaFan.

Can't believe people think UK will get preferential treatment. Sure on some things it might be a better deal but overall it will be worse. I'd not expect the better deals to be on anything that's important to UK economy though.

This has been mentioned and discussed ad nauseum a thousand times in this thread and the fifty threads before this. Let's try to stop recycling stupid arguments - it's boring.
