That's incredibly short sighted. Helping Turkey to support these people is what all of Europe should have been doing in the first place.

Pumping €5billion+ into a borderline terrorist state ruled by a corrupt dictator, what could possibly go wrong with that?

Indeed, but the UK government want us to think the flow is being stemmed, at least until the EU Referendum is over. Cameron has that haunted look of desperation about him, plus it looks like he's missed a couple of Grecian 2000 days, if you'll pardon the pun?

Grecian 2000 ...You're showing your age in remembering that as well !!

This is an interesting article which may have influence in the future of the EU.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35741494

the Turkish government is asking for the EU to increase its pledge to €6bn ($6.6bn; £4.64bn), European Parliament President Martin Schulz said.
Turkey is also seeking a faster path towards EU membership and the speeding up of plans to allow Turks visa-free travel in Europe.

Actually, not reducing the refugees' country to rubble is what Europe should have been doing in the first place.

Turkey hold all the cards; short of this catalysing event they wouldn't have gained membership. They can pretty much demand what they like at this point and they'll get it because the European nations are terrified of the migrant problem.

Massive blow for the stay campaign as hip, trendy, leftie slacktivist site 38-degrees decides to stay out of the EU Debate following a vote of their members.
