Untrue.

As with issues like crime, people's perceptions are out of step with reality. When polled, the public vastly overstate the percentage of the population that are immigrants. In addition, the positive responses to the question 'does your local area have a problem with immigration?' are always lower than responses to 'does the nation have a problem with immigration?'.

The media has a key role in shaping opinion.

So you are saying I am imagining the number of ethnics in my local (backwater) town? ;)

It amuses me the desperate cries of "racist" from clueless lefties to those that think of voting leave.

They haven't even got the gumption in their desperation to show themselves as the most tolerant of tolerant to see that we are running currently some of the most hardcore protectionist and discriminatory immigration policies out of sheer necessity in the world.

Less time crying rivers and more time seeing the wood for the trees please.

It's pretty ridiculous how someone who shares our language, culture and values from America, Canada, NZ or Australia can't come move here, but half of Eastern Europe can come set up camp in a garden shed no questions asked. I wish I had a University education to teach me where my logic is falling down.

They come here, they attend our universities, they pass courses in physics, medicine etc with flying colours and they even speak the language.

We kick them out because they don't get a job earning £35k straight away, they go home and apply their education.

Meanwhile my towns streets are full of non English speaking pretend big issue sellers spitting seeds everywhere, maybe chucking in the odd rape whilst dumping their rubbish at the back of their government funded home.

What's wrong with this picture?

yup, to get my gf here when we eventually get hitched is either her getting a job or i get a job that pays over £18'600 doesnt sound like a lot but here in the middle of nowhere you'd be surprised.

Well Roar87 says they can't move here. Maybe I work with a bunch of illegals

Ok sorry, someone from one of those countries has to apply for a work permit and can only do that if they're applying for work in a specific industry, yet someone from Romania can move here and live in a shed no questions asked. Could you explain to me how that makes any sense?

Just to be clear - your preferred way of dealing with this imbalance (well, ignoring the 'leave the EU' option for a second) would be to lower the requirements for everyone else, in order to be non-discriminatory?
