How's the australian border force act coming along ;)

It's failing, just as I expected it would. :D

Certainly NOT 'solely' GB that doesn't feel it.

...

So the majority of Europeans self-identify as European, which is exactly what the German guy said. Thanks for that.

Do you really need any evidence? Most people don't even consider themselves British. It's still English/ Welsh/ Scottish/ Irish after hundreds of years of "union".

That's right you rarely hear anybody calling themselves British, as for calling themselves European only the most rabid Europhiles would align themselves with that place.

I think most Brits used to identify as British but it's declined as the sub-identities of Wales and Scotland have been enthusiastically stoked by the powers-that-be.

I think there is a chance that the entire 'project' collapses if the UK leaves. More countries will campaign for their own referendum and the EU will end with a whimper.

I doubt it, personally: the rest of the EU is much better at recognising its benefits than we are. Even at this low ebb of European popularity I don't think there's another EU country where the referendum would be a close-run thing. Maybe Ireland? Even the Greeks are clear they want to remain in the EU.

Hardly surprising Greece wants to stay in the EU.

No amount of scaremongering will stop me voting to leave. If leaving results in Scotland holding another petty referendum and leaving the UK then so be it, doubtful though with the price of oil so drastically low at the moment.

The whole in/out campaign will boil down to which side can put the largest amount of fear into the undecided. Migrants and Refugees will undoubtedly be the cornerstone for many of the arguments which will undoubtedly result in 'racist' and 'xenophobe' being banded about whilst everything else closer to the crunch will include 'I don't agree with your opinion so your wrong and so is your factual proof'.

Any collective that has Germany top of the tree does not interest me, once Nord Stream 2 is in place and Germany hold the key over the rest of the EU we'll be thankful we're not sitting round that table.

It's only been 41 years since the last referendum and the EU didn't even exist the last time. You really think they'll let us have another one in another 40 years? No, this is it - our one and only chance for independence. If we remain then it really is the end of the UK as a sovereign nation

Amazing. Are you a script writer for Mel Gibson movies?

It's the beginning of what exactly? It's nothing more than a proposal by two leading bankers for a centralised institution to manage and oversee Euro policy? Pretty sensible if you ask me, given the problems with a single currency and multiple financial policies. Part of the problem the Euro has faced is because of all the disparate policies. A perfectly sensible suggestion by two leading economists who know what they're talking about, unlike yourself.

Good thing we're not a part of the Euro, isn't it?

We not in the Euro either, makes no difference I can see where this is going and its not a pretty picture for UK sovereignty and wealth.
You're right, it doesn't make any difference to us. Carry on with your nonsense though.

I think we can certainly agree on more countries wanting out, though I think it more likely the central core will stick together, fiscally and border wise.

Most identify themselves as British or English, Welsh, Scottish, etc. Or even both. Which is fine.

But Brits do not identify themselves as European at all, not by a long shot. I certainly don't and have never known anyone who does.

For a "Brit", the priorities are : England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland > Football team > the UK > Tea > The commonwealth > Other allies > cost of gas and electricity > illigal immigrants from the EU > leaving the EU > ..........the EU :D

Hopefully they will leave - England is propping them up with all the free stuff - prescriptions/university etc..... which will be made worse now by the SNP....

And I get to call my aunt an immigrant. :D

You could refute some of his points rather than make cheap digs. I don't see how he's wrong though.

Agreed. Camerons 'victory' is getting us a deal which we could get anyway but they can take it away whenever.... so basically the EU will also push us around rather than having a 'proper' government basically y'know - governing.
