I worded my post wrong.

I was out before recent event's, they have just reaffirmed my view. I voted out on the previous poll as well.

Wow, a majority so far for staying in the EU...on these forums....you anti-EU guys are ****ed :D

As I said before

This is OCUK, which voted in favour of the Conservative party, loves mass immigrantion, thinks everyone that disagree's with them is a racist. Of course it will vote to stay in the EU

No wonder this country is so **** up

I have always been 50/50, as in not really sure. The current situation pushes me much further towards the 'out' camp though.

Dont discount the millions and millions of no votes from the ill educated foreigners out brigade. And before anyone accuses me of being one of those, I'm not a xenophobe, I just want us to be able to control the amount of people who come into the country. At the moment, we cant, and that's dangerous in the long term. Recent immigration statistics prove that. Even a Tory minister himself said so.

As I sit here now, out. But when it comes down to the crunch i'll be doing a considerable amount of research before making a final decision.

This. On one hand I'm aware of EU issues that are presented in the media, on the other, there's a massive amount of EU trade stuff that I'm not 100% clued up on and couldn't really make an educated judgement on currently.

Sadly most of the population will be voting based on what has been presented to them by the daily mail etc. which really does worry me.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, don't you think it would be really disruptive, not only for the economy, if we constantly flit in and out of Europe? Let us say that every 10 years we have a vote and the they votes change - the bureaucracy involved would be crippling, furthermore, the rest of Europe would just go "forget it we cannot be bothered anymore", effectively leaving us out of Europe for ever more, and perhaps make things more tricky in the long term not just in terms of trade and freedom of movement, but for all of it.

So democracy is suspended because its 'inconvenient'?

You can't make something so complex so simplistic. Fair enough, 42 years is too long but it would've taken years to set up all the agreements, legislature etc. If we leave the EU, its going to take a hell of a long time to iron out all the details. You can't keep doing that on frequent basis, it would be chaotic.

So far Cameron has mentioned things he probably knows he cannot get. I have always thought that given his and his wider party beliefs, basic worker rights are what they are really after.

No not at all - but how would you deal with the fact that it would take years to join / leave each time? What would be the point? It would create chaos.

I accept that after 42 years it is time. But doing it regularly is just not feasible - it's not like choosing which brand of biscuit you choose today.

Also sometimes this may not be the best answer to our problems.

I suspect once we get a few more lone wolf attacks due to the invasion of europe the results will start to swing the other way.

Out. Why?

Uncontrollable borders from other EU countries when unemployment is currently around 1.8 million.

Freedom to make trade deals outside of the EU.

Restore full control of our own legal system and laws.

Use EU membership payments for the UK and not paid into the EU pot.

I don't see why people think we can't run our own country anymore and have to be told by an EU, which seems ever more primarily run by Germany where we can and are be out voted. The trade argument doesn't wash either. Goods can still be traded, its not like leaving the EU means we can no longer trade with them and will suddenly drop to nothing. Plus there are many more emerging markets and trade partners to be had and with other businesses can then offer our own incentives to be here.
