This poll shows a majority want to leave, others show it at roughly 50/50 but none have ever shown only 20% want to stay in, nowhere near.Looks like the hyperbole is all yours.

What about this link Burnsey posted earlier?

Ipsos MORI polls over they years.

They don't seem to tally with the Survation one above at all.

EDIT: Shows 27% out, 61% stay in, as of June, with the trend an increase in the number wanting to stay in over the last 3 years.

You can never take one poll in isolation to be representative - be that from IPOS MORI, YouGov, Survation or anyone else.

I should have really posted some more polls in my earlier post to show a bit of correlation between agencies to be more rigorous.

I would still say remain as I believe the economic penalty (trade) of leaving would cripple a fragile economy.

That being said if stay had an impact on our stance on this current migration mess I would quickly change.

Not true. We buy more from the EU then we sell to them.
Also the Lisbon Treaty stipulates that the EU must make a trade agreement with a country which leaves the EU.

I believe the WTO rules lay down basic rules for international trade by which both the EU and UK are obliged to abide.
So all this nonsense about trade with the EU if we left is just silly.

I'll go further to say we will be better off as we can start doing trade with our old friends the Commonwealth.

The EU thing with the open borders I've never agreed with and it's proved my point with the lack of response from a united Europe. I'm all for movement in the correct manner.

I see that from a trade point of view it is negative but maybe Britain should think bigger than that and give us a reason to be Great again?

Go global - China is such a big player and like every country has problems but you don't put all your eggs into one basket so you'd always seek to trade more. The advent of the internet has made it such a commercial possibility we'd have to push ourselves out of our comfort zone. Europe imposes too much that it doesn't matter if we agree or not.
