First one was an underrated gem, pretty much the best Resident Evil game ever. The CGI trailer for this is fantastic piece of work as well. Really looking forward to this game.

Found the first one really excellent for the first 4/5 hours then it just dragged and felt incredibly repetitive, need to go back and finish some time.

Do you have a link with info about the ray tracing?

The Evil Within 1 uses the real time lighting FX (which was dropped by other devs due to how much load it puts on the GPU even a GTX1080 struggles at times @4K!! but it looks great when enabled proper realtime light FX). Carmack mentions somewhere the next game engine will use ray tracing (probably to generate the shadows. Most modern PC games use a basic form of ray tracing anyway as most of the gfx are generated on the fly which is why GPU is so important).

Interesting, I had heard rumours that ray tracing (in the conventional/expensive sense) was getting a closer possibility but had never heard of voxel octrees. Seems cryengine and others can do it was well, which is cool.

I agree. It felt like a modern sequel to the later Resident Evil games which worked for me. Loved the first one - can't wait for this one. Could be a rare pre-order for me...

Man that trailer really got me exited for this. If I can pre-order this for closer to £30 then I'll be sold.

I concur, looks really really good from that. (weird enough I might like it even if jumpscarey)

Quite a few good games with October/November release dates. Glad that not everything from e3 is she's away, Can't wait!
