1997 and 2006 I think it was. Awesome liveries, but then I like orange on cars anyway,
Didnt really count the 1997 as it wasnt the whole chasis (and to be honest I had remembered it as vodafone red anyway lol)

As I remember it wasn't a metallic orange either, it wasn't as heavy as that.
Looked them up - there aren't as many photos around as I'd thought (that aren't scale models), but you can seem them in the bottom half of this article.
Any dates been released on new car launches?
Most of the major teams (minus Lotus by the sounds of it, given that their finances are so unstable that they still haven't signed an engine deal) will be just before and at around the first Jerez test.
Expect McLaren and Ferrari to have a dedicated launch, but it's becoming increasingly popular to just launch it on the grid of whichever test you appear at first (unless you're intent on doing an HRT/Lola, in which case the first race is fine).
There was a pre season one that was all orange, here is a "remake" on a modern chasis which personally looks dead sexy!

Next years McLarens will be silver and blue and yellow.
(just a guess)
Tries to think of a blue and yellow logo that is big enough to be a sponsor
Welcome everyone to the year of the Ikea McLaren Mercedes![]()
I thought it was quite well known that Santander were Alonso linked. Presumably Ferrari gets the lions share of their F1 sponsorship budget.Santander are on their way out. They followed Alonso to McLaren and then jumped ship as much as they could when Alonso went to Ferrari. Although it was Hamilton they had issues with so maybe they might come back round? (In 2007 the Santander advertising in Europe had Alonso and de la Rosa on it, they didn't use Hamiltons image at all).
Lucozade could look quite good. Don't F1 teams generally re-design sponsors' logos to fit in with the overal colour scheme of the car anyway? My blue/yellow guess is Lucozade, as it's the only name to have been prominent recently. It's taken the rear wing spot from Vodafone for quite a few races. But there doesn't seem to be any traction behind any rumours. Infact, there doesn't seem to be any rumours at all, which makes me think there won't be a title sponsor next year, and then maybe something when Honda come along in 2015?
Yep. McLaren at Monza 2013: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/mcla-butt-monz-2013-7.jpgAs much as I'd love to see orange back, I think were all going to be a bit disapointed. After all, this is the team who celebrated 50 years of racing by... um... did they actually do anything to the cars? Was there even a McLaren 50 badge on them?
