The F1 2014 season

The Merc sounds beautiful! Is that "winding down" sound the turbo as he's lifting through Copse? It's absolutely gorgeous whatever it is.

Does anyone know generally how quickly Le Rocher sunday tickets sell out for the Monaco Grand Prix?

I'd prefer to buy them next month as it suits my budget, but I'm worried come the end of Feb there won't be any left.

Don't have any credit cards. Never really had the need, till now.

edit: girlfriend has - done!

Also, will be my first ever grand prix! Not sure how the view will be - but I hear if you get there early you can get a good vantage point.

Well, after the noses, at least the noises are good, I think I might actually prefer that to prior engines, but then I've not seen them live.

Sneaky pic of the Mercedes:

Obviously its hard to say but from that angle I'd guess their nose and Ferraris have followed a similar design.

I like the sound of the engines, but give the engineers time to play and optimise the exhausts and I'd expect them to change over the season.

and in terms of engine noise sorry but the V12 Ferrari still wins

Still remember sitting on the pit wall at Silverstone and hearing them fire up at the other end and burble past. Also working out near Buckingham on the edge of the Silverstone track and having the windows open all day to listen to them scream round the track...

It's definitely the same step as the Ferrari rather than the slope Mclaren have imo. Now all we have to wait and see is the nose tip.

From my experience as early as you can. We were there for 7.15 last year and places were already limited. Had an awesome time soaking up the atmosphere, took a book etc. Really brilliant. If you get there later genuinely you will struggle to get a decent view and may well be standing. We ended up with a great view of the track, could see other parts of track too, and the pits. There was also a screen so was easy to keep up with what was happening. We went by train from cagnes sur mer (couple of stops before nice), soaked up the atmosphere after race too, walked the full track abd harbour and cought train back at the end.

I'm gonna enjoy listening to those turbos.

Anyone seen the photoshop of the paint job on the McLaren? Makes the nose look a lot better.

Pity they wont do that - but you are completely right, the black "arches" make the nose look normal (in that lighting anyway lol)

edit - The wing probably wont be black come the first race either, so it wouldnt have the same effect for that reason either)

Does make it look fantastic though

^^ Actually that's quite clever, seeing as the launch is probably an interim livery I wonder if they will design anything into that area?
