Yep, should certainly be a starter next season along with er...

--------------------New Keeper--------------------
New RB-------New CB-------Skrtel-------New LB
-------------------------Can-------------------------

----------------------Coutinho----------------------
---------------New Striker-Sturridge---------------
Agree but I hope he adds a couple of quality 30m+ players than a load of crap like last summer. Quality not quantity.

I can't see him getting £30 million let alone £60 million and I think he would have to sell a lot of players to get anywhere near enough to buy two decent players by which point we won't have enough players for a first team.

We're screwed either way unless the owners authorise another spending spree which I can't see them doing if Rodgers is still around.

The problem with the above is that after 3 years and over 200 million there is 5, maybe 6 1st team names there (7 if you include sterling, but given his form lately and the noises coming from his agent, I'd bin him off and see if there are any takers abroad. Let him rot on the subs bench there) and people think that's acceptable?

Regardless of players though, how are we going to line up next season under Rodgers? He has already proven he doesn't have a clue defensively, and it would look as if the squad needs an overhaul yet again and how many people actually trust him to sort out the glaring problems (all of his making I might add), I dont.

Honestly, I think the bloke is a sham, a fraud. He preaches passing, attacking football but when the chips are down and its a its a must win game he sends out a team thats sits as deep as **** and tried to play on the counter. A team with the players at the core (Skrtel/Lovren at the heart of the defence with Gerrard in front of them and Hendo/Allen in front of that), that presided over one of the worst starts to a league campaign we've had in decades. Its the same in every single must win game of his reign - a gutless manager and a gutless performance yet again.

Well played Villa and well played Sherwood, the bloke takes some stick but he got his team playing to their strengths and showed Rodgers managerial skills for what they are worth.

I think Sherwood is in interesting prospect with regard how far he will go.

If he keeps it up he could put himself in the frame for the England job perhaps.

So bored of Hodgeson...

Sanchez was a big loss and we did indeed try and offload Borini in the summer but he was a Rodgers signing and he was given a contract that he doesn't want to give up. We'll be in the same position with Allen and Lovren as well.

I believe Rodgers said his players didn't have the big game mentality?

In speaking of his players he is describing himself perfectly
Hard to argue with that tbh and it's something he should've addressed after our first two games in the Champions League.

It would've been nice if we had been smart enough to realise we had to pay what was required to get Sanchez and we'd be comfortably battling for top four and who knows, maybe would've actually not been dump in Europe as he could've bailed us out.

Either way I wish we'd just have a person who is making the signings so I can assign the blame to them when I vent, at the moment I have no clue who has signed what.

I don't think Sturridge's run of being injured is unbelievable, in fact its very believable and we were also playing worse with him when we played with 5 at the back so I don't think it would've changed much recently, maybe a bit of quality yesterday, where we missed him most was the first half of the season where he would've been much less isolated.

Oh give over about Allen, incredibly useful player to have and plays great in the right set up. (Not one including Gerrard)

You didn't, can't you see the question mark at the end of my sentence? I was genuinely worried we had and this is what we had to show

He's had some very good games in the last month or two but that won't change the fact he doesn't provide enough cover in defensive positions and offers no threat going forward.

If we want to improve as a team can we afford to play someone that can only pass the ball 10 yards? For a DM that's acceptable, for anyone else in midfield you've got to expect far more. He either needs to improve his own game or we need a better player, it's as simple as that.

Fair enough, I think the average over the past 5 years is just shy of 20mill (Per season) - take Man City out the equation and we're top 2 I think.

He provides a hell of a lot more defensively in midfield than anyone else bar Lucas.

He can pass more than ten yards and ten yard passes are ones certain players in our team could do well with hitting. Still has plenty of room to improve but we have much larger replacement needs. RB/Lucas/Sturridge/Sakho who none of can be relied upon to show up most of the time. (I love Migs, he's gotten better but probably going to have to include him too if he can't actually pass the ball )

That is surprisingly really low (for us Chelsea manu and probably Stoke before recently :p), to inject ourselves back into relevancy we'll probably need more and much smarter purchases unless we are genuinely planning for three-four years in advance and praying all these players pay off. The thing is we aren't even paying low to sell high, many of the players we've bought at their age are unlikely to increase in value massive amounts unless they turn out to be amazing.

As Klopp is available, would Liverpool fans want him? I suppose it would depend on the clubs financial outlook (as to whether you can get Klopp to start with), as you do need big money to compete long term.

Ignoring the fact I think Rodgers time is up and say he is still here start of the new season, who are the players that he has identiied and bought for? There is no plan, no defined formation that we are buying for and thats makes the job of identifying players nigh on impossible for me.

He isnt the guy to take us forward imo, there are a fair few managers that will be available end of the season, all of who are better than Rogders, all who have won something. The time has come for us to let him go.

At least Klopp wouldn't splunk 80% of the budget on mediocre players and he's got more pulling power. With Rafa and Klopp available, surely FSG must be thinking it over.

Rafa gave me some of my most memorable moments of being a Liverpool supporter in my life but that ship's sailed. He didn't fully understand the Premiership and without an unlimited budget and owners that would give him their full backing it would all turn very sour again. Rafa at City's an entirely different prospect though and people should be very worried about what he could achieve there!

Would take Ancelotti over the rest but he's a level or two above us at the moment.

Disagree with the Rafa part, last time out he was fighting a losing battle against certain local players and against 2 owners that were doing their damnedest to send us down the adminstration river.

He got us challenging not only in the league, but also turned is into a team most of europe feared.

Rumors of Ayre on his way out though, so who knows!
