The FA CUP Third Round - 7/8/9 January *** Spoilers ****

We'll have to wait and see what's happened but unfortunately, the Suarez/Evra incident alone, without any comment from Liverpool, could have caused something to happen, just like with the Chelsea fans chants.
That's very true, but as said, I don't think it's helped matters at all. There's not really much more I can say on the matter there.

As for what the club think. Well I've said I think they're wrong, and you've said you think they're wrong. So I'm not quite sure why we're debating that point. :p

It's hardly surprising something like this happened given the stance the club has taken.

The two guys who apparently dished out the abuse were wearing suarez tops as well just to make it even worse

Then as soon as the incident ended the kop started singing the suarez song (granted thats probably just an unfortunate coincidence...)

According to who these 'two guys'?

And where is the link to this being reported to the officials of racist abuse?

You could make it up. You just have.

The song was being sung before the incident took place and had been sung several times during the game.

lol, ok i'll take BaZ87s word over 5 lives and ITVs who are of course part of the massive media conspiracy against Liverpool.

Obviously the song was sung prior to the incident, but it did start getting sung straight after the incident hence why this FACT has been reported from numerous sources already.

and i made a point of saying thats its probably just an unfortunate coincidence as I'm sure lots of people in the crowd were probably unaware of what had just happened.

Yes you made the point after Baz's post and you editted yours.

Regardless it was being sung well before the incident throughout the night and was being sung directly before the incident occurred anyways, did you even watch the game?

Of racist abuse?

It just said an incident. Given his reaction I think it's clear something has been said to him (unless something was thrown but I saw nothing) and if they find the person that's said something, regardless of whether it was racial abuse or just abuse, they should be banned.

Half of the stadium would be banned if people got banned for simple abuse would they not?

The song didn't start getting sung after the incident. The song was being sung before, during and after the incident.

The song was being sung as the lad walked towards the Kop to get the ball, the lad has turned around (song still being sung) and has then reacted (song still being sung).

When did uk football start happening on Fridays? Seen a couple of games have been on Fridays now?

We've had Championship games on Fridays for a while iirc and with the Christmas fixture list, we must have had a Premier League game on a Friday in previous years.

It's just coincidental that Liverpool have had back to back Friday night games. The first being because of the Christmas schedule and the game being selected for TV. The second being because both Liverpool and Everton being drawn at home in the Cup, and because Liverpool have their CC Semi on Wednesday, they were given the option to play on the Friday rather than the Sunday.

If this is true, it draws some very interesting parallels to Football in the 70s and 80s. Sometimes football was a good barometer of the level of Social Angst. High Unemployment - Low Public Confidence - High Unemployment - Racism and Violence in football

/casual observation

I can't comment on Football in the 70s and 80s but if it turns out that 1 person has racially abused a player, it then draws parallels to back then?

Player seems sure he was racially abused. Police and club are investigating but the (heavily drunk) fans, corroborated by those around them, say they called him a "dirty manc *******"

So, guess thats all we will know for now until the police/club release more info.
