About time someone reported Pigeon tbh, good work.

Just the usual "I just can't get enough" song. It wasn't that, that caused the reaction though. The song was being sung as he collected the ball from by the Kop but he only reacted after he turned away.
Ah ok. Thought it was another Anton Ferdinand style chant.

I'm really trying to bite my tongue here, but I can't help but feel the club's stance about Suarez has played a part here. I know that'll wind you up, but it's just how I see it.

The clubs stance is that Suarez isn't guilty. They can't control the actions of an individual idiot.

edit: A BBC journo is claiming that he spoke to police at the ground and nobody was arrested. 3 fans were ejected but it had nothing to do with the Adeyemi incident.

Hmm. The other thread got closed, so I don't want to start arguing this with you, but I really don't see how they have a leg to stand on.

He definitely referred to Evra's skin colour, this is not denied. And he definitely didn't say it in a friendly manner, because the video evidence is apparently pretty clear on his body language.

That's it. Open and shut.

For what it's worth, I don't think he's racist. But he has used a racial term. And that should be punished.

Your club should have accepted the punishment and forced him to apologise completely. Straight away. Not the constant protest, his weaselly first apology, and then an eventual general "sorry"

I've agreed with what you said in the Suarez thread, however the club disagrees. Nothing they've said has condoned racism though, which some (not you) have said.

Regardless of what they've said or even had they said nothing at all, they can't control the actions of every fan that enters the ground. As you mentioned, Chelsea fans were chanting things on mass at Ferdinand on the back of nothing said from Chelsea.

Nobody should accept a punishment they don't agree with. And regarding the apology, if Suarez genuinely believes he's done nothing wrong, the only apology he should issue is for wrongly believing it was ok to use the word.

I'm not saying that they do condone racism at all. I doubt that anyone in charge of your club is racist at all. But by refusing to discipline Suarez, or to point out that he has done wrong, the club are implicitly defending the use of a racist term.

I know that. Again, I'm not saying that they should be able to mind read every fan that comes in. I just think that it's not a co-incidence that soon after your club takes a soft line on a proven use of racist language, someone at their game does that very thing.

Sorry, but no. Absolutely disagree with this. He's used a racist term, we're both agreed on that, right? If he doesn't understand why that's wrong, and refuses to learn why, then not only is he an actual racist, but he should be shot out of a cannon into the sun, post haste.

They refused to discipline Suarez because they don't believe he has done anything wrong. They don't believe the term he used had any racist intentions.

We'll have to wait and see what's happened but unfortunately, the Suarez/Evra incident alone, without any comment from Liverpool, could have caused something to happen, just like with the Chelsea fans chants.

edit: there are idiot fans at every ground. Regardless of any major incidents that might happen, there are vile chants sung up and down the country. I'm not saying it's right, it's not, but clubs have little control over what happens.

Me and you believe he's used a racist term. He doesn't believe it was racist, nor does the club. He's apologised to anybody that was offended by his use of it and he has learnt. He told the panel (and it's in his statement iirc) that he won't use the term again.
