The FA CUP Third Round - 7/8/9 January *** Spoilers ****

Shows how blind people are, Arshavin was great, he ran past people constantly, put in balls, but Leeds were defending for long periods with everyone in the box. Arshavin was trying and he did get good passes into the box. While Ramsey was also excellent in getting around the box and putting in some passes he was on the end of several of Arshavin's passes and his finishing, well, he put almost every shot well over the bar.

Did everyone expect Arshavin to go through 4 players, then score a goal as well and not doing so meant he was crap?

He had loads of the ball, made their defence panic, our positioning around the box wasn't great and Chamakh isn't a killer finisher or an up top striker, he stayed deeper and generally offered an target for a pass then laid it off, this worked great in his first 6 months with RVP and other players running off him, as a lone striker its not working well.

Ox was also very good, Arteta did a lot of nothing, Song got one pass right, very right and we lacked help on the flanks from wingbacks but that was to be expected.

Arshavin was also basically assaulted twice on the pitch, a massive shoulder barge to the head which was an easy yellow and close to a red for the absolute intent behind it, had that been an elbow most people would have called for a red, I see no difference. Later on you could argue the Leeds player genuinely went in to win the header but, he came in far to fast, and in a way that was always going to smash into Arshavin, absolutely reckless at best, at worst he intended to hurt him.

Isn't it funny that Leeds decided to target Arshavin for rough treatment, teams often try and rough up the guy playing badly.... don't they.

I think Leeds were lucky that Arshavin can't shoot, but what a dirty little **** he is. Countless fouls, constant warning from the ref. He got booked late on for a cynical foul on Aidy White after Henry had kicked him, they should have both been booked but that should have been Arshavin off.

Hi all. Last night i went to the emirates and came back a bit drunk and late and went straight to bed so i did not have time to post my impressions of the match, So here it goes!

First of all the atmosphere was sensational. The best i have witnessed at the emirates and i have been a few times this season already. In the second half we was all chanting for Henry to come on and when he did, the crowd volume increased dramaticaly.

When he scored we all went mental. absolutely mental we was all. Brilliant goal and brilliant experience!

About Henry, his movement, awareness and intelligence was a cut above the rest in the field and we did have a strong side out with Song, ramsey, shezney ect all playing. Henry was also giving instructions to the other players, telling them to calm down after the goal, to keep shape etc etc. Henry clearly is not match fit has he did not run much last night but for the goal he got in to an awsome position and finished off his only chance typical Henry style. Chamack and co can only dream of finishing like that! Ashavin actually had a near identical chance of Henry's goal to score about mins after Henry's goal but he messed up.

You see, Henry may be slow but his finishing, movement, awareness and intelligence is still there of the old Henry.

Now on to arsenals overal performance. a bit meh. First half we tried to pass the ball to the net and instead of Ashavin crossing the ball 9/10 he tried to cut inside :(

2nd half we played a bit better, crossing it more often and almost scored a few before Henry did so.

Leeds had 1 or 2 decent chances that could have punished us in the 2nd half but overal a average peformance by us and it took a world class finish from Henry to finish the game.

Overal a brilliant night at the emirates and was drunk at the end :)

Here are some pics

Arsenal weren't dirty last night and Arshavin got fouled as much as he fouled others. On the other hand you could tell we were playing a lower league team due to the amount of 50/50's Leeds jumped into, always nice being reminded of that

 Bar one or two which happen in EVERY game of football there weren't any 50/50s of any real concern, there were some brilliant tackles, the odd clash of heads which is apprently whites fault even though it was a fair jump for the ball, its arshavins fault he's a midget and got beaten to it.

But we are the lower league team therefore we must have been playing dirty. Ok.

Yup i was there and Ashavin was average again. kept losing the ball too much and he had plenty of the ball in the first half.

Seriously you cannot really judge a player from watching on TV live compared to watching it in the stadium because on TV the camera 9/10 follows the ball.

I just hope the fact that Henry's legs have gone doesn't take the shine off him returning, I wouldn't want him to come back and look out of depth.

I never said Leeds were dirty, I was just commenting on the way that lower league teams dive into 50/50s a lot. You get used to seeing it less at a higher standard, but I suppose that comes with better players.

Not sure if you've read right but I was responding to somebody calling Arsenal dirty, when I didn't think either team were

Still my point though was that the game had relatively few 50/50 challenges, i find your point a bit of an odd one considering all the broken bones appear to come from the prem rather than lower leagues which in turn would suggest more 50/50s occour in the prem.

If anything you'd expect more challenges in the prem due to it being a higher standard where competition is more fierce...

Not just the prem, I watch other leagues. Just used to seeing players stay on their feet a bit more, knew we were playing an English team, put it that way

DM constantly slates Gervinho but Arshavin did the same thing he always does, head down, skins a few players messes up and he did well? You didn't need to be at the game to see his end product was completely missing.
