The Fashion Thread... personal tastes, musings, and recommendations

Anyone ever buy a leather jacket from soul revolver? What is the quality and sizing like? They have the one I want, in a suitable size going cheap at the moment.

I love Addict's stuff

Same here, they rarely miss. I did get a cheapo black jacket by them the other day that was pretty pants though but other than that their detailing, T designs and quality are great. I'm wearing one of their Andy Votel designs right now, good stuff!

I can also recommend Fly53. I own a few pairs of jeans, jackets and T shirts from them and they're great quality, the attention to detail's there too. Their jeans especially are top notch.

£130 is what I spend in 2 years on clothes, IF I'm not buying a winter coat. £50 in Primark a year does me lovely.

See, due to the way I have been brought up, thats how i've got by as well. However the simple fact is that nice clothes DO attract girls (not just the slutty ones either), makes YOU look nicer and gives a hell of a lot more confidence.

My problem is I don't know what to buy. :p :(

That's why you need to go shopping, take a friend, grab a few things into the changing room and try it out. Be adventurous and try out a few things you never thought you wear, just to see how it looks. You don't have to buy it, it cost you nothing but it will give you an idea how far you can push yourself.

What sort of stuff would you recommend for a tall thin chap? I can't pull off a bulky look much as I would like to, the only thing is to try and showcase my height and slimness.....

I am about a 44 oblique 46 chest. There is a Hybrid XXL in the outlet section which I am tempted by. Does anyone know what the difference between motorcycle leather and standard is like?

EDIT: Turns out I quite like the mayhem. I prefer the zip on it :o

Its hard to say without knowng what you look like and how old you are.

But try something with a nice cut, add in some colours, a lot of people wear nothing but black, blue and grey, its very meh and you will end up looking like everyone else. Even mix in a white shirt will bring out the rest of the outfit.

Motorcycle leather is a couple mm thicker than standard, its intended to protect you more should you intend to wear it for riding. I have standard and feel its just right however I don't ride or intend to use it in that fashion.

I posted this link before but i really do love this website...

http://www.fashionbeans.com/category/mens-fashion/

As you can see, there are a lot of varied articles that provide the foundations needed to find your fashion identity - for the sake of a better phrase! :p

That site confuses me. Don't even know where to start, not to mention the clothes they are wearing probably cost £xxx :p

It is a good site for things like finishing touches and grooming.

Personally the style at the moment is not for me, while i do wear slim jeans and a few skinnys i never go OTT with those massive V necks on Tshirts

I prefer to be a fashionable everyday man. so good quality simple clothes work well :D

Any help on jeans? Was going to get a pair of these (but their out of stock);

Pretty skint at the moment, but could do really do with a new pair of jeans.

What size are you? There are about 9 pairs of mens jeans made by FCUK at ASOS so there must be one in your size surely. Your post just reminded me of them so I took another look and I like the look of the French Connection Hop Regular Fit Denim Jeans. Almost all the jeans they have from FCUK are well fitting ones.

34/36.

Never had FCUK jeans, was going by your advice on the first page. Will have another look just now.

Anyone got any reccommendations on good, stylish T-Shirts that dont cost the earth? Want to get some for Summer with some funky prints and designs that will stand out from the masses a little but am having real trouble finding any not made by the usual suspects. Ideas, anyone?

Depends what fit you are dude... they are a slim (not skinny, but straight and slim) leg. They fit me perfectly.
