The Fashion Thread... personal tastes, musings, and recommendations

Polo Ralph Lauren, but only if you aren't fat.

If you look good naked then fashion doesn't matter. If you are fat, no amount of fashion is going to help you and you are much better off purchasing very cheap clothes and spending the money on a gym membership, a personal trainer and higher quality healthy food.

Not true at all.

You could wear an Ed Hardy uniform and even if you were David Gandy you'd look like a t***waffle.

Polo Ralph Lauren isn't too much better as a fair bit of their line is "Look lol I've got a Ralph Lauren logo on my chest I must be kewl", though their jeans are reasonable enough to me.

A what lol? Urban Dictionary has helped me but I have never heard of that before.

Anyway I agree that good looking people can look good even in cheap simple clothes.

Personal insult, it's not particularly meant to mean anything, it's more lighthearted

Good looking people can look good in most things, but that doesn't mean they look their best. There are certain brand images that could kill and make your appeal with certain groups, and that's true for pretty much every brand out there - Ed Hardy will be hated by many but loved among certain (particularly bodybuilders) circles, high fashion will be loved by fashionistas but hated among the 'I don't care about fashion' circles, label whores will be appreciated by other label whores but hated by those who don't care and some fashionistas, the list goes on. There isn't much that will appeal and look good to everyone, just a part of life, and psychological evolution's stance on fashion goes some way to explaining it all :)

Hahaha :D Looks like something Danny Dyer would wear. By the way he's a ***** so that would make you one as well.

Just got to give a big shout out to Jack & Jones... not only do their T-shirts fit great on slim guys (bit of a nice muscle fit too), but they have had some awesome designs for the summer. No cheap prints that come off in the wash, just great quality at great prices. http://jackjones.bestsellershop.com/t-shirts/143943

Just got back from Ibiza and got a fair few compliments about the ones I took, people asking where I got them from etc. :)

Thought I'd resurrect this, as I'm looking to update my wardrobe in the coming weeks.

Does anyone have experience buying stuff from Austin Reed? They seem to have a few nice bits on sale, but I've never shopped with them before so I have no idea about quality.

Also jeans - where's the best place to buy them? I normally go to Burtons and they seem pretty good, unless people have better recommendations?

Jeans....can of worms, people say Primark is the same as Ralph Lauren.

Well, the main thing to look out for is:-

1 - 100% cotton, some are actually nicer than others.
2 - Cut, straight, boot, carrot etc. What do you want?
3 - Fit, some brand fit better on me, i don't need to even try it on, i know my size.

I like Diesel Jeans myself.

How odd you should resurrect this thread today, I only just searched the forum for it so I could get the link to that gstar coat in the op! True story
