Buy jeans from a denim manufacturer. For basic denim you really can't go wrong with Levi's. However personally I'm into my raw, selvage denim.

Pretty easy to find plain white polos if that thing doesn't float your boat.

Levis are really expensive here though, compared to in the States.

Austin Reed aren't to bad, tad overpriced in my opinion on some items of clothing.

They use the same suppliers I use albeit under own label so put a higher margin on the clothing.

For Jeans I like Henri Lloyd classic fitting ones, Firetrap, French Connection and Levis. Ben Sherman do some nice selections too.
