The Fashion Thread... personal tastes, musings, and recommendations

Anyone recommend me some dark/navy blue chinos? No more than £60 preferably and not "skinny" fit, possibly slim or tailored fit.

Having a bit of a mare trying to find some that I like :-/

Tried TM Lewin or Charles Tyrwhitt? M&S also normally do a decent range of chinos.

I'm hoping that the red 501 loosen off a bit with wear, they're exactly the same size as my blue 501s but feel a fair bit tighter. Very happy with the brogues though :)

Awesome belt! Do you have an online link by any chance?

No size 10 left. :(

it was reduced from £25 to £17 overnight!

I'm really not sure if i should have got one size bigger in these 501s, wore them for a couple of hours last night and they're no looser....might try and tack the tags back on tonight and see how convincing this is and send them back ¬_¬ still obviously look brand new.

Otherwise anyone fancy a pair of practically unworn 34/32 Levi 501s in a "rust" red? probably fit someone that takes 32/32 jeans better :p we need a fashion for sale forum now

Right chaps, I need some advice as I cannot work it out.

I want to buy some slim fitting chino's, but they need to go with a dark grey canvas blazer, white t-shirt and darkish brown shoes. I cannot work out what colour trousers would work best? Grey is out of the quastion and so is a browny coloured trouser, but I do not want to get blue or red ones.

Hmm, review doesn't make it sound like good workmanship though...

Looks great but is not.

Good looking belt but it appears that the blue leather is first stuck on to the brown with maybe double sided tape before being sewn on. After wearing once the glue softened up with body heat and bits of jumper stuck to it. Regretfully I will be returning the belt for a credit.

Anything that can cause things to stick to it is a no-no. :(

Dinner jacket.

Do I really need a cummerbund?

Also, would a grey waistcoat be appropriate with a dinner jacket? I'm a 38" waist and understand that a cummerbund can make you look even fatter!

Blacktie is hard!

When ever I buy work trousers, the waist always fits nice however the bottom of the trousers are huge (Like wearing flares!)

Is there a certain style I can buy that allows for a large waist that aren't tight on the thighs however are tight on the bottoms?

Cheers

Guys, any advice on decent, slim-fitting Polos?

So far my options are:

  • Superdry (slim fit and rare in the country I live in)
  • Paul Smith (pricey but nice and also pretty rare to see)
  • Next (cheap, slim, more for your moolah)

Ralph Lauren is also an option but also pricey and common as muck here.

Any ideas? :)
