The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

I'd assume if not 2GB then 1536MB. (Other likely possible number is 1792MB but doubt they will do that).

Thanks

I doubt we'll ever see a GTX670.

I think this generation will consist of GTX680 and the mobile Kepler parts (which are essentially 28nm Fermi parts).

We'll see more cards available with the refresh (GTX780 etc), which will include GK110 either late this year or early 2013.

:(

So nothing to compete with the 7970 if it gets its price slashed?

I believe nVidia can play the price-drop game with GTX680, since die sizes are similar between the nVidia and AMD offering and they're manufacturing with the same partner.

I also doubt that nVidia have invested significantly more in R&D this generation than AMD, if at all, because AMD's GCN architecture was a more significant departure from their previous architecture than nVidia's.

It seems THG was hacked according to Kyle Bennett over on HardOCP:

http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1038514895&postcount=54

"While I cannot vouch for the validity of the data, and I never would for another website, I can tell you this. Chris Angelini THG Editor-in-Chief did verify that "someone accessed our internally-facing CMS and exported all of the charts that I had uploaded in preparation for my GTX 680 review." So those are THG charts and such."

All the assumptions made so far are based upon the benchmarks being accurate. However, the DiRT3 benchmark is particularly interesting because all the other cards perform as expected but the 7970 and 7950 suffer huge performance drops between the two reviews. If that occurs in other titles as well then it would invalidate everything we think we know.

It's funny that we're even still talking at this, as without 4-5 reliable review sites to compare the cards it's not possible to form an accurate opinion. But it's gossip! Saucy. :o

I didn't think Toms Hardware had any credibility, back as far as the P3 Vs Athlon days when they were proven several times to be biased towards whoever was paying them the most...

On the other hand with these numbers is ~10% within the error margins of a Dirt3 benchmark? I dunno, all I know is I'll never trust anything from THG so I'll wait for the NDA to drop and the reputable sites to get their reviews out.
