The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

AFAIK, crossfire scaling on 79** cards is 100%
But it was broken on numerous games, from Skyrim to Arkham City. Several games posted lower scores with two cards than a single card. Much of that can be addressed with driver updates but games that are endorsed by nVidia have a tendency to perform below normal games.

I dont see what all the fuss is about or why 7970 owners are in angst.

From the benchmarks in BF3 it was about 3-4fps ahead anyways and considering both overclock i really would not upgrade from a 580 for this.

And only 2GB Vram? come on clearly this is 570 renamed like in the earlier post.

Where is the old GTX 785 with the 512bit ring bus? I suspect NV have a monster lurking somewhere ready to be unleashed once people catch on to what they are doing.

They are drip feeding us and i hate it!

I wouldn't call them being "in angst" as you put it. However it remains that the 7000 series' performance progress on this gen is so poor, that Nvidia can rebrand what they planned as GTX660 to a GTX680, and still beat the 7970. Let's face the reality, the 7000 series IS last year performance at last year price. Their performance increased yes, but so has the price...so they are not reallly much more bang for bucks than last gen.

Toms figures seem a little odd. He has the 7950 offering 15% more performance per watt than the 7950 which is nowhere near accurate. The signs look good for Nvidia but I think the results will vary a lot depending how closely the reviewer sticks to Nvidia's guide- Tom's seems to have stuck very close to it.

Well I think we are about done on this thread now... I hope dreams have come true for a few out there :)

Thanks to CAT-THE-FIFTH for keeping the info coming, a sterling job old chap !

Well, if you take gk110(very unticipated cards) the performace difference compared to gk104 will be approx 20%. It is like coparing 7800 series and 7900 series in some way. So the point is that gk110 wont differe much and considering 680 at 500$ it is a fair buy.

I don't think anyone had the GTX680 pegged as being equal to or even beating a 590 in some benches

good show Nvidia, now lets hope some enthusiasts feel the need to get rid of their 580's at drop down prices so I can nab a couple more haha
