The first "proper" Kepler news Fri 17th Feb?

That's the price it was manufactured to be, but AMD under-achieved with 7900's

You're talking out of your lady garden mate as per usual. The 7970's are ridiculously underclocked at 925mhz, and most if not all will overclock to at least 1125mhz and destroy Nvidia's midrange high price derp card.

I honestly can't believe Nvidia are trying to hoodwink enthusiasts eyes with a mid range part overclocked and rebranded high end. It's pure lolz.

ok the GTX 590 is expensive, but on 1080p it's a full 35 FPS faster than the 7970.....and that's not OC either..this gap in performance is massive !

this isn't good news.... uum, i'm not sure what to think, but i'd be far happier with a 590, but i think it might be too much money, unless of course this drops in price by july

Or get 2 7950's and destroy and 590? Also, when overclocked, the 7970 is approaching 590 performance for a fraction of the power/heat.

I'm downloading Heaven 3 now and running it the same res as OC.net shopguy....
I'll run first at stock clocks, then my regular 24/7 stable overclock.

If that benchmark is for real, Kepler is the biggest let down since Faildozer imo.

Stock 7970 i7 with 2 cores disabled at stock speed 3.4ghz (best I could do!)

Not going to bother with the overclocked results as they were at least 10fps more

111 points more than a 580? something is iffy with this. At least I hope so anyway.

Well the 660 on which it's based is the replacment for the 570, so it's not really surprising really. Unless the person benching has deliberately clocked the card down to 700mhz, or that is the actual clock. Until we see official reviews from official channels it's all still open to interpretation depending on which way your willy faces.

It's GK104, wasn't the 104 lable has always been used for mid range cards.

People keep saying the gtx680 is nvidias mid range which is hilarious. Its the best chip they have ready end of story.

The cynic in me thinks Nvidia had nothing to counter Tahiti in Jan, and have re titled their GK110 that was coming out in Jan to "GK104", overclocked the nuts off it and are releasing now.

Think about it, if people who choose Nvidia think mid range Kepler is this good it keeps their interest right? Folks will think if GK104 is this good, GK110 must be amazing? You follow?

In case anyone missed it, i'll ask again, anyone know what the clock speed of the 680 was on Toms Hardware review? 700mhz, 1006mhz? Higher, lower? Bruce Forsyth?

Kind of an important omission, and makes the review BS - Even though it's been pulled afaik.
