I'm interested to see a 680 SLI to 7970 Crossfire comparison, as I imagine the scaling will work to nVidia's advantage.

AFAIK, crossfire scaling on 79** cards is 100%

It's a shame the tweaktown review did not feature BF3 and did not really go into overclocking.

Overclocking will be the 680's shortfall, I won't offer a banana to my rear, but I still think overclocked the 7970 will rape the 680. There hasn't been a single oc 680 vs oc 7970 leak at all.

Hearing that 1200mhz will be easy for everyone on stock volts, 1400mhz is possible on air, and 1900 with LN2.

Gibbo on here hinted at 1200mhz, but 1400mhz on air? Source?

An overclocked 7970 will give better performance in BF3

If you can look a that graph and claim the 7970 is better then you've just succeeded in dispelling any semblance of doubt about the bias in your viewpoint.

There's no doubting the 680 is a great stock card, but overclocked it loses out, it loses out to stock 7950's in Metro2033, how on earth does that happen?

The above graph shows the 7970 to be faster within Metro 2033 and AVO only. BF3 and everything else is a win for the green team or pretty much even.

Should shake prices up nicely in this section then, which is good.

I'd rather keep my proper high end 7970 than a jumped up overclocked midrange part made up from cheap bits thanks
