The Flash (2022)

Watched it yesterday and what the heck was up with forced comedy scenes? Did anyone find 2nd flash funny running makes the random musical instruments falling? The 2nd flash was also a complete idiot for majority of the film.

Although having Keaton was great, the heck was up with his comedy scene? What was the point of aquaman at the end? So much forced and unwarranted comedy scenes. Seeing Keatons old gadgets and bat mobile was nice. The multiverse scene was a nice touch. Clooney at the end caught me by surprise, probably the worst batman out of all of them.

Ezra does not cut it for flash. Surprised they didn't have reverse flash for one of the end scenes. There was a lot of potential but whoever wrote this comedy shouldn't be allowed to again with big movies.

Watched it without reading any reviews and I really joyed it. Only afterward I realised this film got so many bad reviews.

Not without its faults but I give it 8/10

I quite enjoyed it as well. Had a decent bit of action and some of the comedy was fun… Liked how things tied in… now… the CG looked like it had been done by the TV show crew.

I did enjoy the retro bits at the end, I completely forgot the Nick Cage Superman was in it, however actually seeing it made me think that it was supposed to be a Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern scene but RR said no way. I was also disappointed that they didn’t pay off the Grant Gusten Flash.
The worst thing for me about the movie really was that although enjoyable it just gave me the feeling that it was utterly pointless now that universe is in the bin. Oh well.

Cheers, no need to watch it now after all those spoilers.

I know right, you'd have to been some kind of utter loon to think that it would be "bad" idea to enter a thread for a film you haven't seen, yet well over a month after its been released and still not want to read anything spoilery, even though the very clear forum guidelines which are highlighted at the top of the forum specifically say that 14 days after a cinema release you can discuss spoilers without tags.

It'd be lunacy I tell you, sheer lunacy!!!!! :D

Ended up watching this on a bit of a whim and enjoyed it more than I expected to, much better than the god awful Black Adam. 7.5/10 Wasn't without it's flaws though.

The CGI is such a mixed bag, some of it is good but then bits genuinely look worse than the tv show. Faces in particular half the time seem to look like they've been created by AI or something. Combat feels very floaty, especially the entire final battle and there are several scenes where they really failed to make it look like characters were actually in the locations they were meant to be in.

The humour was very hit and miss too, some things got a genuine out loud laugh but most missed.

Young flash was annoying as ****. He was supposed to be 18 but seemed to act like a 15 year old most of the time. It was tough to feel any emotional impact of the twist at the end when he was so irritating :D

The 'big cameos felt entirely pointless and didn't make the film better at all, and again dreadful CGI. Only Clooney's was good. I don't even understand why they included Aquaman at all.

The scene where Barry decided to try and recreate the accident to get his powers back was just dreadful, this is the problem with taking away a characters powers that got them in such a 'random' way. It would be like if we had Spiderman running around trying to get lots of spider bites to get his powers back.

I see your point. In a way.

I had no intention of watching it. However it is only just on streaming, and seeing as though it looks like nobody bothered to see this at the cinema, the majority are only just now having the chance to watch it was more the point I was observing.

It's just a courtesy, hardly a big effort is it.

Why are you even here? Just pop along to film threads that you have no interest in watching, just to complain about things?

Threads in here are more entertaining than (some) movies. I read threads sometimes to gauge whether something is worth my time. Over the years I've found the forum as a whole generally aligns to my tastes and found it more reliable than IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes or the Guardian.

Hope that answers you question. Next.

Neither is staying out of a thread for a film you haven't seen a month after release but want to see, "just in case" you accidentally see something.

However, if you do decide to do that then I would say that it's not a courtesy to then complain about someone who was following the very specific forum rules has regarding spoilers.

If you don't agree with the forum rules then contact the Mods and the rule might be changed, they've been changed like that previously so it works.

It was OK. I didn't really get the whole time travel thing. Seems a bit like sliders, once he made that change he can never return back to his reality.

Felt a bit like a rip of Spiderman Long way home or which ever one has all three. Him jumping from time to time is a way to explain different actors in different films etc.
