The Flash (2022)

The vast majority don't care (or even know) about that. A far bigger impact will be the fact that DC movies have generally flopped, especially since they announced they're giving up and starting again. Even Shazam 2 flopped and the first one was praised.

Thats my take on this too. I mean DC announcing the end/re-imagining of the DCEU when there were still several DCEU films left to show in the cinema is such an odd financial decision to make. Just look at it from an average persons viewpoint i.e. "Ooo, do you fancy watching [insert new DCEU film]..............................Nah, its a dead end, no point" etc - so bizarre.

I think most comic book fans are pretty aware of what's going on these days, the same ones that know the DCU is finished in its current format will be the same ones to know just how much of a ****** human being Miller is.

If the average person doesn’t know about Ezra they won’t know about what Gunn is doing.

More to the point would they care?
They see an advert. “Hey that looks cool might catch it at the weekend”

since Endgame I don’t believe I have watched a single superhero movie apart from Spider-Man at the cinema.

Don’t think I’ve missed a super hero flick since Fantastic 4 before endgame.
(Not the remake)

Just can’t be bothered giving them my money anymore. Find it a real turn off when a bunch of horrible people start preaching at you in the media, socials or in the actual film/show.

Especially when the content is way below par.

I saw this last night with a friend. I enjoyed it more than he did.

I thought the plot, although unoriginal, the way it was executed was good, with a new idea in time travel with the spaghetti thing which made sense in a way and lead to funny moments which also are well executed.

Ezra Miller is a good actor, he was in every scene and done a good job.

I really enjoyed it, didn't look at my watch even once. Enjoyed it more than Ant-Man Quantumania or the Eternal or any of Marvel Phase 4.

(Yes, Miller IRL is a moron)

Same my thoughts exactly, take what you will Ezra's private life but you cant deny he did a decent job as a actor. Thought both Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle really shined in their moments. CGI was a tad dodgy but overall it was enjoyable.

Oh yeah, some really dodge CGI, reminds me of the CGI in the Matrix where Neo fights a thousand Agent Smith, that kind of rag doll CGI.

ok, i was expecting it to be terrible, and i was even wanting it to be terrible, and i hate ezra miller, but i kind of really liked it.

Its much better than almost all the other DC films and probably better than any marvel phase 4. i am just as surprised as you.

I parked my brain for 2 hours and I thought it was great, my nine year old son absolutely loved it (he's loves the series too), one of the better DC efforts imo, plenty I could criticise, but it made me smile in the most part.

Was a lot better than I was expecting.
Crapped on the recent marvel films. On par with gotg 3. Still had it's ropey bits and overly long scenes but. It was ok

8/10

Was laughing out loud a lot. Very silly start.
Bad CGI... Almost felt bad on purpose I hope.

According to the director the cg of some parts of the movie was meant to be from Barrys perception in the speedforce with things looking slightly distorted and the colours looking off. People have piled on saying that's bs but considering the budget they had it seems more likely its not. The scene with the babies was apparently all real babies yet in the final cut they didn't look quite so real, which had to do with the effect the director talked about.

All the scenes where the main Flash is suited up, at a distance look like some sort of shiny CGI plastic man. I noticed this in the trailers, but assumed it would be fixed by the time of release.

Fair enough for the beginning scene, maybe it was an artistic choice, but in other parts of the film there was definitely ropey CGI as well.

I still enjoyed it and will watch it again as soon as it hits streaming!

Apparently its meant to affect almost any scene where its meant to be from his POV. Even the cameo from Cage was shot and he was there in person but in the movie it looks odd.

The idea, of course, is...we are in the perspective of the Flash,” he says. “Everything is distorted in terms of lights and textures. We enter this ‘waterworld’ which is basically being in Barry’s POV. It was part of the design so if it looks a little weird to you that was intended.

More talk on the cg here from someone who claims to have worked on the movie. Sounds like the videogame industry, people working insane hours including weekends.
