The Fury Pro Fiji Owners Thread

How much more successful do you think the release would have been if they had released a Fury X Tri-X as well as or instead of the AIO model.

Not sure. Tbh I think the Fury X is in a weird position where it's sort of pointless to get just one, because just one won't do what it's best at - which is 4k. So you need 2 of them, which makes AIO a smart choice. Having a Tri-X version would be less effective imho because of the need for 2... Then again maybe you don't *need* 2 and it's just me :P

Just reinstalled Afterburner, and found it was the Unofficial Overclocking Mode set to Without Powerplay Support that buggers the sliders up, have to leave it on the default setting, Disabled, so thats sorted, working fine now :)

Redone my screen displays monitoring again, to show both GPUs temps, clocks etc..., and im absolutely astonished at the temps of these cards, my single 290X hit around 82 max in Firestrike, my 2x Furys, the top card hit 72, and the bottom only hit 61, both are cooler than my single 290X!!! :D

I've only just started messing with afterburner I didn't even know how to display temps and fps with it.
Far Cry with 60% fan speed is a constant 48/49c. I'm blown away by that since my previous cards could melt the polar ice caps

You using the m0000sive side fan?

I imagine it would have gone down a lot better, Loadsa is running a pair of Fury tri-x's and his temps are great for air cooled so if the FX had also released with the same air cooler it would have had no whistling issues and that would have meant no returns, no complaints and no negative feedback.

Are you finally happy enough to keep these then?

Good news if so.

Nice

Yeah :)

Right, i deleted my cfg.dat, pc_settings, and my settings.xml from GTA, redone my settings, no change, mind you, it did seem to run better, when id dropped the shadow quality to normal, and then i tested with everything off/lowest they could go, and it ran superb, so i im gona have a mess about with the settings, and im still getting the massive amount of memory available in the ingame menu, and the memory bar still got nothing in it.

Plus, both my cards usage, is around 45-50%.

Btw, when you update your drivers on Xfire, do you have to disable it first, or can i just leave it enabled, doesn't matter ?

I think 2 Fury X cards makes more sense than one(which is a bit "meh"). However the scaling on 2 at high resolutions is pretty impressive.

I had a 120mm on the side of my case with one (remnant of the MSI 290 days) removed it, and my temps have not changed :)

When I go xfire, it will definetly go back on to help out with the heat. For now i'm glad my fractal R5 is fully silenced to keep the crappy pump on my seidon v2 from annoying me too much. EEEEEEEEeeee ;)

HINT: It wasn't pointing in the right place ;)

My CPU is being cooling by taking air in from the front, my bottom card is being directly cooling from a 140mm fan at the bottom and my top card is being cooled by the side 140mm fan.

BOOM!! The Holy Trinity

:p

My GTA problems the memory being all out of whack i reckon, as with everything on its lowest setting, it says im using under 3Gb, runs smooth as a babys bum, but as soon as i up some settings, to break the 4Gb barrier, its unplayable, a stuttering hitching mess, so i have to play it with everything off, lowest it can go, as even when i just pop the Texture Quality to V High, i get a slight stutter, as it reports just under the 4Gb, then any other setting i put up after that, it steams past 4Gb used, stutters and hitches like crazy.

Sounds like I made the right decision....:p ;)

Happy with the new cards?

I know everyone has differing opinions, setups etc, so for me it was right.
I have a CM Seidon V2 mounted on the rear of my case with 2 x silverstone fq121 fans in push pull. The only real extra heat I needed taken away was from the 290, hence the side exhaust fan right next to my card. All 3x case fans I had were Fractals own, 2x front intake, 1 x side exhaust. Since removing the side exhaust it's now back to a fully silenced system (upto a point) and the temps of both the Fury and my CPU (8350) haven't budged :)
