The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I sent mine back (to ********, tried to buy from OC but that's a different story) as the noise was crazy loud. I'd strongly recommend avoiding the Fury X unless you're deaf or desperate. AMD will fix no doubt, but they've lost me to Nvidia now.

Ex-AMD fanboy.

Mine is blissfully silent and I am really enjoying it. More of a competitor as the res gets higher (must be an API thing at lower resolutions like 1080P). It does still get quite warm though but it is like an oven in my room and much quieter than my Titan X (too lazy to fit the waterblock on it).

I'm sure team red will be OK with that. Plenty of passionate gamers at Team red.

Strange you bothered to set up an account just to say that though.

mmm

The statement from AMD doesn't instill confidence:

"...adjustments to the sound baffling adhesive compound were applied in the assembly..." which resulted in the sound being "largely reduced".

Sounds like they have just squirted in some gobbo to reduce resonance. Rather than change the troublesome component.

Sorry mate didn't mean to make it so cryptic. Just sounded like they are unaware of any issues regarding pump noise, didn't say I could RMA if noisy so decided to cancel right now and watch how things progress over the next few months.

Unaware yet its mentioned in virtually every review plus numerous youtube vids...hmmm. Someone else on here was trying to rma for the pump noise and said that the cs dept weren't having any of it.

They don't know if the ones coming on the 17/7 have any different pump or design change. just thought it made sense to wait for now, just know I'd get a noisy one then be screwed. Maybe by the time of Fury X2 surfaces, we'll have a different picture.

Not really strange. Been on oc and reading the forums for some time now, just never bothered setting up an account before.
Thought it was worth letting others know of my experience so they are more informed if considering a purchase.
You can put your tinfoil hat away now. mmkay :D

Sent my card back to a competitor on Friday and they've just processed my refund today. They were unwilling to replace the card with one of the new Sapphire stock even though the guy on the phone said that wouldn't be a problem:( the fault testing came back as "low audible noise, easily masked by background noise and need to have ear very close to pump". I'm sure anyone else that has experienced the whining first hand will strongly disagree with that! it was just unbearable and could be heard over everything else. Now I'm on the hunt again for some stock : O

sound is subjective.
and some are more sensitive than others.

Yeh it might be low noise in the test room, where 5 people talking, and 5 testbeds running, with open door to the warehouse where boxes falling from the shelves. Not like an evening in your room playing.

Sound is subjective but it's a fault that shouldn't have been there in the first place. I'm pleased that the pump has been revised and new stock won't have this issue. Just need that bloody stock to make its way over to the UK now!

If its still under DSR (old name) then they have no choice but to replace. If they still dont play ball, and you paid using credit card, use a charge back and you will get a refund that way. If you paid using switch, then you will have a fight on your hands. Send them info from AMD stating there are probs with their cards to see if that helps.

Oh and blacklist and never use them again.

They already processed his refund. So what's the issue here? Says so in his first sentence. Personally I would prefer the refund as well, so then you can wait for a brand new stock that are all revised.

Now if they refused to do that, or give a replacement I would agree with you. I had a hell of a time dealing with a company also known as Scam recently.
