The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

If people don't buy Fiji NOW, they won't get Pascal in 2016. NV will have a total monopoly and just continue farting out 28nm rehashes for a 3% bump just like Intel.

These fanboys are only screwing themselves.

NV will move away from 28nm with or without AMD for profit if no other reason.

I can see you being tempted to get another FX and TX for some two way CF and SLI gaming @2160p.:)

Maybe in the future but I seriously can't justify spending another £500+ on a Fury X or £800+ on a TX.

Good choice Greg

Though I now rock a 980ti ;)

You and Michael made my mind up and I promised myself I would never go back to 60Hz. Ohh well, if it sucks, I can return it :)

While I agree you cannot fault a customer for not wanting to buy a subpar product. I was hoping the FuryX would be a monster, it's not unfortunately, and even worse so for people on the common 1080p resolution, they market it at 4k yet give it 4gb of VRAM, while not a problem for most games it's already proven an issue with some games.

Seriously as Nvidia has shown with their products if the performance and features are there people will pay the premium for it.

Imagine the FuryX had 8gb of ram and a corsair or nzxt cooler on it, plus tuned to not only decimate 4k but smash 1080 and 1440, AMD could have pretty much asked what they wanted for it and sold stacks

That was my concern till about 5 mins after I started using it :D

Good to know and will be good to see how well the Fury X does against the Titan X. I also have a 4K Capture card, so I look forward to doing some recording. I don't think I can max settings out in most newer AAA games though but still good to compare.

Think i'm going to pick up another Fury X when in stock, performance on the whole is great, but GTA V it just seems to struggle in, maybe i'm expecting to much from a single card at 1440P i don't know.

A single FX should handle GTA V fine at 1440p, my 290X does, everything on, maxed, apart from MSAA off, and grass detail on high, every slider maxed, im mostly sitting around 50fps.

It should kill GTA m8 maxed out at 1440p, my Ti does...

(although mine is clocked it's probably 25/30% faster)

I run the game maxed (Ultra where possible, shadows on softest, 2x Msaa, no motion blur but post fx and dof on ultra, advanced graphics all on and the sliders maxed.
If i disable Msaa fps jump into the 80s but don't like the jaggies.
Performance isn't terrible, just expected better, average around 50-60fps but can drop to 40s.

Hopefully new drivers with bring more performance, would be interesting hearing how it runs for gregster and on what settings, i know he's gaming @1440P too.

I am pretty much the same as you bud. I did a comparsion at 1080P and it wasn't really playable with everything maxed (well 4XMSAA and the same for shadows) but 1440P is pretty poor in comparison to my TX, albeit my TX is quite a higher booster. I can run 1440P on the TX pretty much the same frames as 1080P on the FX (if that makes sense). 4K might well show a different light and watch this space :)

Does drop below 50, when im in built up areas with lots more traffic, pedestrians about, and out in the countryside with lots of grass, but only to around 44/45, which is fine, as FreeSync keeps it smooth, im well impressed with how it handles it tbh, thought i would have had to have dropped some settings :p

Can't wait to get my FX, will be even better. :D

Just had a thought, best way to record pump whine would be using something that doesn't crush the high range and then uploading a wav or flac @ 48KHz to sendspace or somewhere.

There's already plenty of vids you can hear it in clearly. This for example

Looks great bud, give me your settings and i'll replicate on my system, give you a rough idea of what fps you can expect, i'm also using a 1400P Freesync monitor (144hz).

lol you're really showing your true colours. You go ahead and buy them all up then like a gallant hero.

Still using my 1080p settings, with the Grass Quality now on High, and v-sync off as using FreeSync.
