The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

No because FreeSync is just AMD driver! Adaptive-Sync is Open Standard!

So one day if Nvidia stop locking there stuff up they might, just might enable there driver to support Adaptive-sync then we all win.

You know better than me that nvidia will not support it, unless their g-sync flops, which won't happen since we have so many nvidia fanatics who go with this daylight murder of the solution.
So still locked in ;) Besides buying a product without any indication that it will be supported by whole industry is kinda, how shall I say, unwise.

Also does any of you Freesync/G-Sync buyers realize that you just have been locked in into single vendor GPUs till your monitors/TVs die? Let's say AMD really screws up or worse bankrupt, so all the freesync users will be with useless feature since nVidia is to capitalistic of the pig to support the standard. And let's say nVidia screws up real bad, or better bankrupts (sorry couldn't resist :D ). So all you G-Sync owners will be even worse off with overpriced useless feature, because there is no logical reason for AMD to support an expensive standard which they have already free alternative :/

You are forgetting how much cheaper the FreeSync monitors are though - they are not massively more expensive than non-adaptive sync monitors with similar specs. So,in the end you can just consider FreeSync compatibility as another valued added feature to a normal monitor.

I returned a perfectly fine and quiet Fury X last week for a 980ti. One reason was because I too was a little disappointed with the performance in GTA5.

Now the ti is a little better and I can also enable MSAA and advanced settings with everything mostly at Ultra and stay around 60.

However after just suffering my 12th Blue Screen in a week, I'm wondering if I made the right choice! These nvidia drivers are terrible.

You really should stop avoiding a fresh OS install. ;)

What you are experiencing is not normal.

You aren't locked in, can use Nvidia cards on these montiors as well, just without the FreeSync, make great 144Hz screens, you don't just have to get them for FreeSync/Gsync.

I got the Asus VG278HE for the 144Hz, and that had Nvidias 3D Vision.

I'm not forgetting it, just saying, that current situation due to nvidia practice is not very favorable to consumer ;)

Of course you are locked in, a person has to be a complete idiot to buy G-Sync monitor not for G-Sync, especially when they have this hefty premium. There are plenty of 144Hz monitors which don't have this expensive DRM and they are great at being 144Hz monitors ;)

Well obviously you wouldn't buy a G-sync monitor for an AMD card, as you have to pay extra for the G-sync module in it, but you can buy a FreeSync for a Nvidia card, as theres no extra cost there.

yeah, but I am yet to see a nvidia user buying freesync monitor :D

what I am getting at is that I do hope g-sync flops, and AMD is not forced to adopt it, thus making all the monitors more expensive than they should be.

Think I know that TI cards were dropped in price since fury x was revealed, thus selling good. And I think i know that 980 non ti is now dropped in price since fury non x reveal.
So I take your 'heard' and double it up with my 'know' ;)

Locked in? It prevents me from selling the monitor, or moving it to being a side panel?
Curse you NVIDIA!
