The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Solider, get a Superflower PSU, i have the 1000w Platinum one, its brilliant, you might be ok on the 1000w for FuryX x 2, not sure, may want to look at 1200w or something?

Oh I'll definitely try, what sort of wattage am I looking at for a new psu? 850-1000? Obviously it'll need to be a good brand (love Evga's warranty)
Seems either seasonic, superflower or corsair offer what I need.

I'm a little worried about superflower after reading a few horror stories in regards to their returns.

Having a look now, I would imagine 1000w is plenty surely?

Ive had 5 Superflower PSU's, i had to RMA 1 via OCUK which went flawlessly as normal, the other 4 have been fine (mining rigs at the time for 3 of them)

I still use a 1k SF Leadex Plat rated, its brilliant, cant fault it at all, and it looks superb.

This is a rebadged superflower with double the warranty (10 years). I have one in my rig, been really pleased with it.

1000W is over what you need for 2 furies. I run 2 overclocked 290's on an 850W with no problems at all pulling around 750W from the wall during gaming and according to most reviews, 290s and furies have a very similar power footprint. Might want to go 1000W just for ease of mind but honestly I dont think you need it. Anything over 1KW is just pointless for 2. Anything with seasonic or superflower OEM is the best, EVGA uses superflower OEM so I went with them. Theres a chart online telling you who uses who OEM.

No such thing as overkill when buying a PSU. Especially considering once overvolting is available, I'd expect it quite possible to bring a 1200w psu to it's knees with two and a heavily overclocked 6-8 core cpu for point scoring runs

Don't be, wonderful PSU's. I swear by them now and have owned multiple versions.

Nothing beats my current 2000W version though. The only downside is the fan on the 2000W version is the loudest thing in my rig, including my Quad Fury X setup.

This.

One of my locals has got Asus in now, still got the Sapphires as well.

Tempted to call in, get one to try, and ask about the pump issue, if it has it, just bring back for refund/exchange, without a prob :p

I've had good experiences with corsair AX platinum and superflower gold,
the corsair even survived getting watercoolant inside it after drying out for 24 hours

Well guys i'm up and running, testing first with my cpu at stock, not run any games yet.

Going to order a new Psu in a sec, quick question, on my UD4 x99 board i was under in impression that i could run two gpu's @x16 (i'm using PCIE 1 and PCIE 2.

But GPUZ shows them only running @ x8 3.0..

Edit, my mistake, totally forgot that the 5820K only has 28 lanes :)

Regarding psu, is this any good https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-019-EA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2465

I am sure you need to put some load on your gpus for GPUz to show the x16 etc
