The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I dont see the appeal of onboard xfire aka fury x2, maybe latency / scaling improvements due to proximity but these cards seem to scale really well individually and you can get higher power to each chip

Easy Quad or triple Xfire without needing 3-4 120mm Rads.
Also frees up PCIe slots for NVMe SSDs

It's not difficult to make the Fury X bottleneck with memory at 4k, even certain reviews point this out. It does take more doing than any other 4gb card on the market, however. There's only so much that can be done at driver level as middleware pulls the strings as to how much is required on allocation. What they're doing is controlling how much of this is stored where. In short it's not difficult to make Fury fall over, it's just more difficult.

Doesn't site any sources and further says the exact yields are unknown.
Not exactly sure what information or media their working off but their basing it on nothing more than speculation.

We all know amd pushed out fuey earlier than they wanted too due to the 980 Ti. So clearly stock is going to be low for a few weeks/month or two. Altough that is also speculation but more appropriate.

As much as I want A fury/X, I just can't justify it. I need 2 of them to play at 4k smoothly according to most things I have seen, and I honestly can't justify spending a minimum of £600 AFTER I sell my current GPU's for 5-20 more FPS :( I can almost max everything I play right now at 60 FPS anyway so... I should be ok for a while.. I guess. What do you guys think?

Call me crazy, third Fury X ordered, an Asus this time. Hopefully third time lucky...

Third card, same annoying high pitch noise...

On top of that I'm most displeased with the online retailer I've tried (was my first and last order from them) as they tried to sell me the card as new when it wasn't

- External box/packacking damage
- Inside plastic bags containing screws & DVI adapator already opened
- Front cover of the card loose, 100% sure it was taken off by its previous owner to check the pump inside

Is that allowed by UK law or is that an attempt at "fraud"?
