The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I don't want to be rude Joe but such comments from you makes me quite angry

I went through 4 different cards, bought from 4 different retailers, from 4 different brands and over a month period and thery WERE ALL SUFFERING FROM VERY ANNOYING PUMP NOISE. How much more efforts do I need to put in BUYING your products?

I have been on this topic sharing my experience and reporting my findings and I haven't seen neither you or Matt comment or respond to any of my posts.

I truly believed and liked the product but after terrible experience I've lost faith and I must say I am very disappointed about how AMD have handled the situation. As a loyal and respectful customer I do not feel any appreciation for my struggles, which for me are down to poor quality control on your end.

Seriously I can't believe what I'm reading here...talk about unhappy customer here.

Totally agree, it is very annoying when an AMD employee comes on here and makes light of the situation, Joe is 100% AMD material from the sound of it, he should go far.

In my experience both reps ignore the awkward questions, such as why no HDMI 2.0 support? must be a reason? incompetence maybe?

My cards don't have a whine, I'm sure Gibbo could confirm if I've sent any back to OcuK. :)

I thought you got them elsewhere?

That will never happen. I'm not sure my ears could take going back to hot and loud cards, I'm still struggling to get used to having a silent QuadFire setup running at 50-55C under heavy load. :p

I was reading somewhere about your setup and scaling, looks near perfect if you look at graphics score alone, can't wait to see your results under DX12 on the synthetics! Please consider doing a comparison post :)

I can understand your frustration Chewie, this is not something we take lightly. We ensure all the feedback we receive reaches the right people so that these problems can be rectified in the future.

As we have seen here OcuK, the problem is limited to a small amount of initial units. That does not make it okay, but just putting it into perspective. However, i can completely understand your frustration having now gone through four units.

A fix (for the pump whine) has been applied by Cooler Master USA and the problem should be resolved for future R9 Fury X units.

I'm going to send you a trust message so we can discuss this further. :)

We're definitely not making light of the situation Firefox and take it very seriously i can promise you.

I got my four from OcuK.

Thanks dude, CrossFire scaling is pretty epic at 4K, even in QuadFire.

I will definitely be posting more results, so stay tuned!

I'm sorry that people have had to experience the pump whine issue.

Should it have ever been a thing? No it really shouldn't have. AMD didn't just go "aw that sucks about the pump whine". No, it went back to the manufacturing process and got it sorted.

We hate the pump whine even more than you do and we've fixed it. I can't speak for the retailers/partners in regards to RMAing these cards.

Why wasn't HDMI 2.0 included? I don't know the answer to that question and I won't be able to find out. I'm sure a reviews website will shed light on that though. Until then AMD will be releasing an displayport-HDMI 2.0 adapter to enable 4K @ 60FPS.

I don't want people to think I make light of this situation. Since it's launch a few weeks back I have read all of the comments here and on other forums. Every single one of them. I've been feeding back your comments to AMD weekly! They know full well what's being said.

I want to be able to answer the difficult questions but I can't because I don't have the answers. If you have any questions, at all, then message me. I can't promise that they'll get answered but I can do my best to direct them to the right people and try and get you an answer. You have an AMD rep on your forum so bah gawd make use of me! PM me questions! I'll do my best to help.

Is the pump issue the cause of the non existant stock, and now that its been rectified, are we going to see a pick up ?

I'm not sure what I can say about this...but screw it! (It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission)

It's the limited supply of HBM I think that's seen a limited stock of Fury X. I've seen a few articles report an increase in HBM production so would expect more units to come. It's not the pump. It's HBM.

The AMD answer to that one is "buy an adapter that doesnt yet exist"

Happy to discuss further Matt, ultimately I would still love to have a Fury X and so would greatly appreciate any help you/AMD can provide.

Yes had exactly the same reply with my R295X2 and still no adapter, more AMD BS in my opinion, I will believe it when I see it.

Am sorry but I calling you BS on the r295x2 and all this hdmi 2.0 discussion..

Hdmi 2.0 wasn't even a talking point till it was added onto the 970 in September last year.. The r295x2 was released in April same year, at the release of 295x2 hdmi 2.0 was nothing and only some TV units supported it.

Lol, don't hold back :p

Therein lies the problem, there's sites right now with stock but we don't know if they're affected units. So people are just playing the waiting game, would have made more sense for amd to get their partners to label the boxes "pump v2" or something so we could at least have something to go on. As of now its just a lottery. After sending back 2 cards i really can't be arsed having to go through all that bs again just to more than likely get another duff pump, and there's a few on here that feel the same way, and i'm sure on other forums as well.

I had a R295X2 in February this year, so what point exactly are you trying to make?

An adapter was supposed to be on the horizon then but it never emerged and still has not so why on earth not make the Fury range HDMI 2? like i said pure incompetence in my opinion :p

Hi Five to Matt & Joe, refreshing to to see you be so vocal. I know all too well how NDA's work and such. When some things can't be said when you know the answer, you can come across ignorant or arrogant but sometimes you have to because why would you risk your career to appease some guy on a forum.

Regarding the HDMi 2.0, You all knew the what you was buying when you bought it, It's not like they stated it on the box and listed it in the spec.

Saying that it does asks questions as too why not but I use a monitor so i'm not bothered :p

As I've said I recieved an MSI one from OCUK this week and it did not possess the jet engine like noise, it had the refrigerator noise but it was so quiet that I doubt you would have been able to hear it during normal use, I had to listen closely with the case open
