The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

That's great news then :)

I'm quietly excited now ! got a before 1pm RMSD so deffo should get it in the morning. Plenty of coffee is needed :D

Contrary to what most people on here think I actually really like my cards and would have kept them if it was not for the whine noise, doubt you will be disappointed.

Thankfully Greg has already proven my one to be OK. I was getting PSU whine with two Titan Blacks so I am hoping this reduces that :) I think I was just running the PSU a bit close with it being 850w.

I do have a Enermax Revolution 85 plus 1250w on hand but adding it would require some soldering and hacking about the main wiring. Not hard, and certainly easier than the last retrofit I did for my wife's PC but yeah, not just straightforward.

I'm still on the fence about CFX though. It was crud on my 5770s and a bit crud on my 7990 so yeah, will hold off for now.

Crossfire is decent when they release the drivers, problem i found is no support for new releases and I nearly always buy on release so found it frustrating.

Looks very nice don't get me wrong.. But for me a screen that size I just couldn't sit that close.. Coming from 24" to 27" is quite big..
I had to adjust to the extra field of view and still am adjusting to it.. A screen that size will be great for just sitting back and chilling.

Same here, I think everyone is different though. I went from 27" to 32" and the 32" literally made me sick. I just can't sit that close to large screen. 27" is max I can cope with lol.

For me its not so much the size thats the problem but the backlighting,
most LEDs dont agree with my vision so I tend to stick with old CCFL ones, I've also heard of people that swear by CRTs and wont switch to LCD at all

For some reason my Fury X isn't playing well with my oculus rift so I am going to reinstall windows onto a new SSD and then reinstall all my programs,
might take a while, but I cant really judge the FX fairly until I've solved this issue, performance in normal games is decent enough though,
skyrim seems to run quite well even with the ENB mod, high res textures etc, but the framerate increase over my 780Ti isn't enough to be noticable.

I can understand were you're both coming from and I was a little concerned with the size.

But after using it for over a week any and all concerns are gone.

Plus, I originally had surround, this is a lot easier on the eyes.

The 40in is lush tbh, although I did go through a small period of thinking it was just TOO big!! Pushed it back another 6in and now it's perfick ;) :D

Yer, the more I see it the more I want it but the more I want it, the more I know I need another TX and the more I know about SLI scaling, the more I don't want another TX, so gawd knows :p

Does look good Neil and at my age, a bigger screen would be nice :D

You need to look for one that is Flicker free. Most lcd backlights use pulsing when they need to dim. So they have a strobing effect.

But you can get flicker free backlit screens that don't use pulsed backlights. My lg24gw27 is flicker free, one reason why I bought it.
