The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Yeah totally :) I've finally started Metro 2033 : Redux. Only thing is I did Last Light first and it all feels the same, like I'm visiting the same places I went in Last Light :S

Wish I could have played it at launch but my paltry GTX 470 wasn't up to it and it ran like bum. I could have heavily reduced the settings but one of the main points of interest were the gorgeous graphics.

Batman? blimey, even Bob the Builder couldn't fix that one..... :D

I just finished Last Light off couple of days ago, got the bad ending :( :D

Brilliant game.

Yes they were. I was ready at my desk come 1pm and there were only 6pc showing. Either most were already allocated or people were extremely quick to get what little was available. I had to wait for 1 Gigabyte unit to come into stock the following week. Personally I think Kaap (not sure how Matt acquired his) pulled in a repeat customer favor. Something I hadn't bothered to try in time

There were plenty at competitors, and cheaper ;) I know of 3 sites that didn't sell out until the day after.

Two of them were not well known so I guess that helps.

I picked up a fury x on release day from a competitor about an hour after they went up....kept thinking I would get an email saying not in stock....but nope it wasn't even the last one. They were around if you looked and not for crazy prices

Disable in device manager?

What would happen if I only had one card installed and I tried to disable that in device manager ?

It would be cool if you could have 2 different cards plugged in and a different monitor connected to each one and then run a different game on each graphics card

The real change will be with explicit multi gpu rendering systems with DX12 etc. as long as they make a decent system then it should scale far better beyond 2 cards.

well, as Matt proved with his testing 3 way xfire scales very well, when it scales ;)
I am very enthusiastic with dx12 and multigpus, but knowing MS overpromise and underdeliver, I'm kinda not holding my breath. Even with the games I have right now only few of them(mostly some indie games) don't support xfire, the rest of them are scaling great.

Is it possible or sensible to install an AMD and NVIDIA graphics card into the same system and disable one or the other via software ? I am having some issues with my oculus that I think might be caused by AMD drivers and I would like to be able to quickly switch graphics cards to investigate the problem.

the problem with nvidia and amd in the same system at once is that nvidia drivers take over AMD card and become dominant in the system even if it is sitting in secondary PCI-e slot. And then there is the case of ** Swearing should be fully starred ** going weird.
I remember back in the day managed to fold on amd and nvidia cards at the same time, but it took me a while to make them actually work nicely with each other.

I'm amazed people have found the stock to own three!

I found the stock to won 2 a week after release ;) people who want something always find the way to have it ;)

** Please learn how to multi-quote **

How are you finding them in crossfire?

almost double the performance in games which support multigpus. Basically all the modern games. Surely you have few of them which don't support multigpus at all, or support is broken, then just disable xfire and you are good to go ;)
such games usually are not taxing enough, so you still can enjoy 4k at high enough fps ;)

I don't really care what every green man is saying, because at the moment fury x is great, and the best is still to come

If i buy 2 FuryX what kinda OC will i need to put on my 4770k? and will i benefit moving to Z97 from Z87?

PC is a couple of years old now since i upgraded anything, will go with 1 FuryX at first and a new screen to go with it, but definitely want a 2nd, should last me a couple more years

It is up to the developer to support multigpu's in their game engine explicitly. they have to write a multi gpu rendering system of some sort. but overall the performance, synchronisation and scaling should be superior to what it is now.

4ghz and above should be plentiful, I'd say.

I'm not talking about developer part.
Remember when MS said that dx10 will have very good multithreading. Then when that did not work out, they promised dx11 will be multithreaded. That went to **** very quickly. This time I don't doubt multithreading part of dx12, as it is basically mantle, but still a lot of things can be broken with the way MS do things ;)

I have a feeling windows 10 isn't really gonna be much over Windows 8.1 API wise, I think we're all expecting a little too much to be honest.

API wise it will be revolution, but knowing developers, yes we sure are expecting too much. BUT square enix, codemaster, EA and Valve are embracing Mantle/dx12/Vulkan. So I still think they have enough presence in the market to break the ice and provide enough games for us to betatest ;)
