The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

I'm thinking what you got is a whining one and the previous user discovered this and removed the front plate to check what version of the pump it was.

Unlucky dude, to think all the things that could have been wrong with it and yet it was something so silly this time

Box wasn't factory sealed, but the tab that you pull open, had one of those plastic circular seals over it, so it hasn't been opened.

Seems totally stupid to send it back because of a simple screw being missing, but when you think about, that simple screw has probably voided the warranty.

You don't need to rma just phone up and demand they send a screw if that's all it needs.

I doubt they'd be able to send me the little hex screw.

I just thought about looking in the little bag the 4x rad screws came in, see if one of those was it, but nah :(

If i knew what screws they were, i could try and source a one i guess, then i could let them know ive managed to get one, and see what they'd say about RMA'ing then if it ever knacked up, as i did let them know the screw was missing at the start.

Trouble is though, what if turns out to be a whiner, and i have to send it back anyway, gah.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.

Can you not install it in temporarily fashion, with the radiator laying on the side with your case open to test? That way you don't have it to go to the hassle to set it up properly in your case.

You don't even have to boot to Windows, just start your PC and go into the BIOS. If you have a noisy pump model believe me that will be enough for you to notice it straight away. After my second noisy card that's how I ended up testing the next ones.

I would test it, if it 's a whiner send it back, if not get a hex screw and keep it.

Was thinking about that, but ive told them its got one missing now, so what if it goes within the 28 days (or whatever it is), what would they say then, as ive never had to RMA anything, so don't know what they do, get arsey or what. :p

The lad i spoke to on the phone said he'd see the prduct dept in the morning about it (as they'd gone home by the time id phoned), and then e-mail me.

If it had turned up earlier, then i could have thought about just giving it a test, and then just sourcing a screw if it was ok.

I just got in a flap tbh, as you do, and wasn't thinking straight after seeing a missing screw on the thing :p

Yeah i just read those, doesnt bode well, normally i ignore everything you say as you are a blatant nvidia troll, but on this occasion i have to give you kudos for posting that info.

Well thats me definitely not buying an AMD card this round, roll on die shrink.

Personally I still think its worth waiting a little while longer and see if the overclocking is that bad when it becomes more widely available. Plus Windows 10 and DX12 are potentially worth looking at.

Though I would have to agree, its not looking that great. :(
