The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Holy **** my Sapphire has actually been shipped - I was beginning to think ordering it was all a dream, or something I did in a previous life....

*Really* hope that after waiting all this time they're all good ones going out now...

I hope I'm not proven wrong but I'm guessing Sapphire have taken as long as they have because they are making sure they are all fixed models that go out, Sapphire seems to be AMD's EVGA in a lot of ways. They did the best Hawaii cards because they put the effort in when it came to building the cards and coolers unlike Asus and MSI etc who just recycle recycle. I think they do it because they want to have that rep and AMD needs someone like that as the face for the consumer.

I often bought Sapphire but I made the mistake of getting into MSI after having a TFIII 7950 boost, TFIV 4gb 770 Gaming and a few smaller MSI cards such as a 7850 which were all outstanding cards at good prices, But then I spent a lot more on a card and fell foul of the recycling bug with the MSI TFIV 290x Gaming. So MSI are on my no-go list, Even though they appear to have learnt the lesson and put a decent thick heatsink on the 390/X I won't take a chance, This time I went with the Sapphire Fury Tri-X (it was the option but AMD chose them for good reason) and it is an amazing card with an amazing cooler because Sapphire made the effort.

I predict the wait will of been worth it.

That is my hope. I could have pushed and gotten one sooner, but I wasn't in any rush to get it and thought I would have less chance of getting a lemon if I let it take it's time.

I have always had good luck with Sapphire cards too, had plenty of them over the years and never a bad one yet. My 290X Tri-X has been a great card and I my mate will be inheriting it to replace his old 7970.

Fingers crossed...
