The Fury(X) Fiji Owners Thread

Off topic mate, get a Nokia Lumia windows phone. Preferably one with a carl zeiss lens camera. A phone built round the camera.:)

I was looking at a Samsung S6 Edge as it has a 16 mega pixel camera.

Carl Zeiss has a nice ring to it though as I used to do photography and had a couple of Mamiya RZ67s with a good set of lenses.

That would be a great name for a graphics card "RZ 67".:D

Just had a quick try with Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous.

Constant 60 in StarCitizen at Very High.

In Elite D with everything on Ultra at x1 supersampling I was sitting around 180 at x2 I was sat at 80.

For some reason my benchmarks aren't being recorded by fraps so cant see what I was getting when I used VSR but they still looked smooth.

Yeah I'm torn now between the Asus 27" IPS 1440p 144hz panel and a 28" Samsung 4k Freesync panel, leaning more towards the Asus as I'm interested to see if you can just push 4k onto it via VSR and how it will cope

It depends on what you intend to do with it, IPS in general have better colour reproduction and viewing angles, but are generally slower than the good old TN. So if you are sensitive to response times or refresh rates and are keen on first person shooters then go with a TN monitor.

The Samsung 4k, despite having a fast 1ms response time is locked at 60hz.

I read somewhere that the v2s are July 1st onwards, so i cancelled mine, was only getting it to go with a Fury (as no DP on mine), but scrapped that idea after reading the reviews, but seen as those are all over the place, and ive slept on it, Furys back on :D, so wil grab one of these closer to when i get my card, and hopefully its a v2, but if not, only have to contact Benq via their support, and they'll arrange for it to be picked up, and it'll be shipped back when its done, only takes about 5 days :)

Good idea buddy, I wished I had known it sooner. I should have waited until I have my card on order before clicking the buy button for the monitor. Fingers crossed mine is v2 :(

Agreed, had my 1020 for 2 years in December, no intention of changing. 41mp camera :D

Back on topic, good to hear that elite and SC are playing nice with it :)

Boom can you do some stock vs oc comparison tomorrow?

Really don't know what to think of the reviews now that people are getting a different experience from the reviewers with things such as coil whine and performance. May have to retract my comments about AMD, as it was said with frustration regarding their products falling behind Nvidia again. I really hope that I am wrong about what I said and that the owners reviews in this thread tell a different experience on the Fury.

A couple of the reviews stated that what sounded like coil whine was actually bearing whine from the pump. Something which AMD told them was fixed in the final revision shipping to customers (but not in the pre-production units sent to reviewers). That would explain the difference, and as there've been no reports of the whine yet, it would seem it's correct.

Have you tried raising the AA @1080p, I think this is something that HBM could help with.
