To be fair, we've been waiting for big leaps in the GPU space for a while, and this new generation is bringing those leaps.
Not seeing any huge jumps in performance as of yet. Think we have to wait until 2017 to see the real gpus of this generation

That is awesome for oc.co.uk that they are selling well, but won't do much to lower the prices in the future. GTX 1080 Ti going to be £1k, and will still sell out. Bet nvidia aren't happy they didn't increase their prices earlier.![]()
It is mainly due to no competition. Once AMD bring out their competing cards Nvidia will react.
Until then (and that could be October at the earliest), they have free reign in this segment of the GPU market.
It beats the TX and the Ti which are high end cards by a decent margain. Its a high end card regardless of what people say
Mid range (overpriced) for the series.
Roll on Ti. . .
Gibbo, how do the sales of the 1080 compare to the 980Ti?
1080 on course for the most profitable GPU ever.
100k sold on an £600+ part, that's £600 million, that's insane.
Did I QUOTE you? Wasn't even talking to you.![]()

Errrr, the math doesn't check out.
Look Gibbo has said he has sold a 1000 in the first month and he has two to three times the stock of other major etailers in europe.
I think he also said he had pre sold up to 10,000
So back to the article. On those numbers I would tend to agree the 1080 is the best selling card based on pre orders.
On actual numbers shipped - no way. Gibbo has confirmed he has a 1000 480s in stock for launch day and he expects to ship at least 500 of them on that first day. Thats half of what ocuk have managed to ship 1080's in a month. On that basis 480s will overtake 1080s within a week.
