The Godfather - graphically underwhelming

its fiddley controls and personally the graphics are really poor but its quite a vast city, there are some nice touches.

My biggest issue of all, they got brandos voice, they got sonnys voice they even got tom hagens voice right, but michael corleone what the hell? He sounds and looks different! Why wouldn't pacino give his voice I wonder?

Thats a bit wierd considering he was in that monstrosity that was Godfather Part 3. Maybe after that nightmare he vowed to never have anything to do with it again :p
 
Got my copy and have made my character.
He is naturally good looking but also ruggedly hard. :D
I will post him next time i am in game and remember. I have to admit to back tracking a bit though as i keep bringing it on top for myself. The heats just to intense for my first save as every time i leave my safe house i get steamed by untold cozzers. People in the street keep calling me a woman killer it's just not nice. :p
(truth) Went mental done a massacre. About 8 cold blooded murders of peeps in the streets then a death run in my car road rage killing about 30. :D

Am i having fun YES. I think the corleones are going to have me iced for bringing it on top to be honest. **** em i gonna kill them an all. :D

Thats a rather silly post, especially looking at your sig. Its like saying 70% of people buy a new graphcis card and processor *just* to make their games look better, when in fact they buy them to improve the overall immersion/realism of the game.
 
Looks like a big disappointment :(

I've been following this for well over a year since the first previews in PC Zone and it was shaping up to be a great game. A game that might just come to the greatness of Mafia

Unfortunately not. The latest PC Zone review is anything but good.

From reading the review, to summarise, it seems that the control system is awful and obstructive and that the game is full of oversights.

Not so good

Real shame as I was really looking forward to this. I enjoyed Mafia more than 90% of the games I've played. The graphics, storyline, immersion, etc were superb in Mafia. It's a shame that this hasn't lived up to its potential
 
I dont find the control system on PC bad at all, same as Mafia, move mouse to move around, W,A,S,D forwrds and side etc...

Fighting it great,, utilsing the mouse is great.

Im really enjoying it 8/10 from me.

i dont think its too bad id give it 8/10 the controls let it down but with the godfather storyline it was always going to have good missions etc

Am still playing and enjoying it.
As far as the controls go i like using the mouse to sling people about and also to give more power to blows thrown. Yes it is a different method of control than i am used to but it's soon becoming familiar and doesn't stop me having loads of fun.
From an Actual user i can say 8/10 so far. I love the seemingly free form the game has. Roaming about extorting money and generally being a thug is great fun whilst doing the missions and fills the game out well.

it may have underwhelming graphics but it still broke my gfx card !!!! :(

been running the same overclocks for almost a year on the likes of doom3 hl2 FEAR and css etc and i play this for a few hours and it melts :/ :o


was quite enjoying it too
 
well in the PS2 version there are 2, one just north of the brooklyin bridge, where the road bends slightly. and one over at little italy industrial poark? there seems to be warehouses or something either side of the road, the ones on the east. Maybe show up on the map in better detail?
I am going by the map in the PS2 special edition as i havent had the need to bribe a fed yet ;)

lol yea i need to bribe a fed so i can end the mob war. i could bomb one of there business's but i dont know how because everytime i molotov it or dynamite them nothing happens
