The Godfather - graphically underwhelming

I'm deeply disturbed by the fact that (unless I've cocked something up) the framerate seems to be capped at only 30fps.

Like I said the game feels real smooth to me with no slow down at all on my 6800gt.

However I cant seem to get my joypad to work, anyone had this problem? i know its fine as i checked in control panel.

I dont play computer games often - picked this up the other day and its really quite fun

I am considering going out and getting a control pad however, because the controls are very odd on the keyboard! Anyone recommend a controller that is compatible? I saw a list somewhere, i'm gonna go find the list.

Actually I've never played it so it might be totally awsome, who knows. I doubt it would live up to mafia though, a great game I actually completed.
