The Godless - OcUK Guild Wars Guild Members Details...........................

Woohoo...

Cantha and Tyria done finally, only took me all week to find every little crook and granny, but finally I got Legendary Cartographer :) and while I was at it, picked up Protector of Tyria too, five titles maxed in quick succession = first rank of 'Kind of a big deal' which is also awesome..
gz! I just don't think I have the patience for the carty stuff.
tempted to start this again, any gulids i can join?
I got accepted into one called The Ninja Bunnies.. :D quite quickly, everyone seems pretty friendly and they do all sorts of runs.
im in the same boat,

I started playing again but its just no fun doing everything with hench/heroes :(
See above. I can ask for invites for you if you want? Add me in-game, Master Gord.

You can update the client from any install with your password and username. It may be faster than using the origional discs as there will have been so many updates.

EotN is okay. I found it a bit of a grind but enjoyed the dungeons. Still annoyed about the PvE skills taking over the rest of the game.

AHHHHHHHHH!
I can't login
the accoun xxxxx has been perminantly blocked???!?!

You could always contact support. Could be that your account was hijacked and got banned for botting or gold selling. They should have proof on there end that the IP was different and it wasn't you.

Most of the reason that people are going back to GW now, is to earn themselves points for their acheivements, which will unlock cool stuff in GW2.. so yeah, I reckon a few of us will get GW2 when its ready :)

how in gods name do you kill shiro in factions? man its impossible....i can get him to half health easily but then he goes on some sort of rage and kills everyone or just meditates and gets new hp.

HELP!!!!!

GW2 is one of my most anticipated games...

I refuse to play WOW and pay monthly fees.

So GW2 is my only source for a MMO.

GW1 was good, but I found it frustrating at times. For instance, later on in the game when the battles are hard, the team your with needs to be organised or you literally get obliterated at the first encouter. On top of that you spend 45mins, waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting to form a team, or wating for a healer monk, then you get in to a game, you ether get obliterated at the first hurdle or as soon as you spawn in the instance, party memebers leave.

So your back to square one again!

Dont get me started on the elite missions. No chance. That really is for really good player, who are in really good clans. Other wise for thecasual players, you are going to get absolutly mmashed up in 5 secs imidiatly after spawning.

Also I found the weapon system boring. All the top level weapon had the same stats just different skins.....

Ther should be some very very very rare items, that are dropped only very rarly, buy randomized bosses to prevent farming, that have stats higher than the regular high level weapons. Of course these weapons are only for POE use.

That would make the game interesting. Whats the fun in finding a green weapon or an orange weapon with the same stats? I understand the orange weapons can be crafted, but some where there is a green weapon with the same stats.

Battles scars iirc is the biggest problem; bring a stance ender. Last few times I have done it he went down like a sack of potatoes!

The meditation is a real problem. Check GW wiki for his skills and try and counter. If you get a full Pug team with the PvE skills from the dragon; it shoul ldbe reasonably easy. Empathy, SS, pain inverter, spoil victor and other anti melee make him much easier.

He also banishes the toon with the lowest health.

It is tough to find a party now but the game is 6 years old now. If there is decent comunication the teams you join should be fine. You need to either be able to perform a function or be able to sync with other players. the imo is about skill combos and one set not being invincible (completely! but then I suppose shadow form was allowed to take over)

HoM; 27/50 now, going to stop at 30 I think.

Best (and easiest) way to beat Shiro is an Ele, who has Arcane Echo + Echo.

They then copy the Celestial Skill, with Echo, then use AE, to make another copy, and then drop the last one on the creature that Shiro summons. Bingo, all 3 Celestial Storms are then recharged, and you then re-drop all 3 recharged storms onto Shiro.. = one dead Shiro, works in NM or HM.

Yes but Celestial Storm is the Ele mission specific skill.

I have solo'd him as Assassin but my god its tedious...

The key to winning is to remove his stance. The health steal stance is just ridiculous if not removed almost immediately sometimes and in general fighting him is just a glass cannon tactic. Basically grab 2 Necro heroes and give 1 Spoil Victor, give the other Spiteful Spirit and Insideous Parasite and stick some monk heals/prots on them and a Mes hero with Empathy. Alternatively if you can't take Wild Blow or any stance removal skill, skip the Mes and take a Warrior hero with Wild Blow and who cares what else. Turn off Spoil Victory and Wild Blow and use them yourself. Then just load up on monk/warrior henchman.

Basic strategy is hit him with everything you've got and remove his stance yourself ASAP or you will die. Once on low health make damn sure you're paying attention because 1 of his skills removes all hexes and makes him hit pretty much everyone. Instant you see him cast that skill, follow it with a Spoil Victor and hope you can remove his stance quickly if he uses it. If all goes well he should drop dead in about a second of Spoil Victor hitting him as it takes his health away everytime he hits someone with higher health than him and he hits about 5 people at once minimum, losing huge chunks at a time.

Opeth you completely missed the point... WoW is a tedious grindfest because the best gear is only available if you spend millenia grinding. In GW the best SKINS are available if you either grind for them or pay for them. You can pick up a max stats weapon with perfect mods for next to nothing as you should do. no one is screwed over by it. I paid a fair amount for my Silverwing Recurve Bow low req even though it has identical stats to some random weapon i already had. PvE skills ****ed the game up badly, PvE weapons would just take it too far.

What actually ****ed up the game was all the constant nerfs to skills because of PvP, when the monsters used those same skills against you.. Making them easier to kill.

The skill split should have happened way earlier in the life of the game.

Oh stop with the deluded crap. PvP related nerfs rarely severely impacted on the effectiveness of the AI, especially when said AI in HM would cast them faster with lower recharge and at considerably higher attribute level. Keeping everything the same would've made PvE incredibly stale and nobody would ever of agreed on the required changes so better they balanced through PvP which is what led to a lot of skills being changed in function to make them more useful. Only certain skills that were incredibly broken in PvP but useful for PvE were seperated and that is exactly how it should be. Honestly some people never want to adapt. In Prophecies using Thunderclap was laughable, by EotN it was still laughable. Then they changed it and it, along with the new Fevered Dreams, became strong points in my Ele's general HM PvE build with great success.

PvE skills were the downfall of the difficulty in PvE, end of story. TNTF/SY Paragons or SY Sins, Warriors or Dervs could block a considerable amount of damage to your team. Finish Him and YMLAD were insanely powerful shouts. The Vanguard Sin was immensely powerful. Seed of Life made monking much easier. And so on and so forth.

Its just me. I would like and find more interesting weapns with different stats, rather than weapons with just different skins....

They have different stats. Everyone just uses 'the best' (or most generic). ie, 15^50, vampiric/zealous(or sundering if you're a noob/a scythe or hammer wielder) and +30. Seriously what were you hoping for? A +60 unique that basically means if you don't like the rest of its mods you can never get that extra benefit? Some weapon skins are just horrible and having to use it because its mods are better than everything else would be lame. All mods available to everyone for all weapon skins so nothing can be better than another.

The skills are the games customisation. Some people swear by never using anything but Minor runes for skill buffs, some people swear by using Superiors. Some people take a bar of quality skills with energy management, some think Heal Party is the first and last thing a monk needs to do well and fail. Thats what defines you in the game, not your weapon stats, and that was entirely the point of it. Of course the idea of skill > time fell down a bit when grind title PvE skills were introduced but for the most part it still stood.

Oh stop with the deluded crap.

Nerfing the skills has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with monster AI and you know it.

Case in point, Splinter Weapon.. Used upto to hit 6 adjacent targets for about 60 damage each. Cos of PvP it got nerfed, first the damage was dropped slightly to 53, then the number of targets dropped to 3. Ok so the skill is no longer a problem in PvP, but most of the PvE mobs in Kurzick lands used Splinter Weapon. So ask yourself if a monster used the old splinter weapon on your party and the new version.. which one does the more damage to your party, and which group would be a harder challenge.

And that's only one skill, add in all the other changes and there's your reason for why PvE became a cakewalk. Nerfing skills for PvP reasons ****ed over PvE, LONG before PvE skills ever saw the light of day.
