The Golf Club

Thanks

I think I will get it tonight and hope for improvements
I read that the best place to go is "CJs CD Keys and Kinguin" at around £16.00 ish
Hope they have some staem keys left!!!

I'm really struggling with some aspects of this game - I have zero idea how to regulate the power in my swing!

Can someone give me some pointers as to how best to achieve say, 80% power on a swing?

Chipping on, especially from the rough, is driving me crackers - the ball either ends up going 3 inches or 3 miles!?!?!

Even putting is very much guesswork - my putter says it will do 100+ yards but the hole is 20 years away - not to mention that the green guidelines are way off - occasionally I'll aim to one side because the "lines" are moving pretty quickly (which I assume indicates a slope!?) and the ball will just carry on straight whereas a seemingly straight putt will veer off centre for no apparent reason!

And all of this is on the easiest course - my god am I in trouble!!!!! :(

Practice.

It's about getting the tempo right to hit 70-90% power swing regularly. You need to expirement using a smooth tempo on your backswing and downswing, until you roughly know the tempo for power %.

It's the same with chipping and putting.

When you are chipping from the rough, make sure you are checking the ball lie as this affects ball distance. Anything between 10-50 yards from the pin off the green, I use a flop shot.Chipping is hard as the ball goes further than the yardage shown with the club used, so it can be hard to judge.

I found the putting hard to begin with, especially on fast greens, but I'm getting better as I know what tempo roughly to use to achieve feet distance.

No update this week.

Are you using a controller? I've been using my XBOne controller for Golf Club and I haven't had any real issues judging power. I have played Tiger Woods games for years though...

No idea how the game plays with mouse and keyboard.

I'm using the mouse and I still don't know if it's the backswing or speed of the actual swing that affects the power!?!?!

Both.

You cant hit 100% power if you only swing back 50%, no matter how fast a tempo you use.

Thanks!!! I never thought to check out Youtube!!!

Where is cheapest place to get this from?

I got mine from CJ's CD Keys for £16.99 - I think it's marginally cheaper from Kinguin but that was in Euro's which put me off a bit!

As promising as this game is, and it really is, there is still a lot of work to do imo!

I've had an occasion where I literally couldn't get across a body of water with any club without first firing backwards to the fairway! (I'd rolled about 1 inch onto what looked like light rough)

Also the percentage reductions for being in sand/rough etc do not seem right at all - I was in a bunker and it said something like 71-78% distance with 100 yards to the flag - hit a perfect shot at 100% power with a club that should have gone to the hole at 75% distance and it didn't even go half way there!?!?!?

It's so frustrating because I can fire in pars and birdies 90% of the time and one mistake on a single hole blows the entire round because the stats on getting out of hazards are miles out! :(

Couple of questions about his game.

1. Does it have real life courses?

2. Can you setup private tournaments, so we could have an OCUK championship or the like?

3. How easy is the course designer?

4. Is it worth £15 atm?

Couple of questions about his game.

1. Does it have real life courses? Yes played The Belfry yesterday.

2. Can you setup private tournaments, so we could have an OCUK championship or the like? Not sure on that

3. How easy is the course designer? Very easy, there is a good youtube tutorial about it at the moment.

4. Is it worth £15 atm?IMO very much so, very promising if golfing games are something you enjoy.

3. How easy is the course designer? very easy and its the best designer to date IMO

4. Is it worth £15 atm? Hell yeah it is. I'd pay £30 for it and have no qualms

and btw, I'm running a PGA Season along with Doyley and a few others...spread sheet galore, stats, averages, money list etc We are currently at week 2 out of 12, so not to late to join in. That reminds me, Josh, why you not on board yet?

The lack of official real life courses isn't a problem, people already have made 'real life' courses with the designer. Expect many more when the game is officially released, and they are talking about created courses being cross-platform, so you can also play courses that have been designed on the xbox1 and ps4.

The course designer is a revelation and will have more improvements and updates to it, including more themes on the way etc.

Currently it's a solid golf game, nothing revelation, but it is worth £15 if you like golf video games.

I lost all the links. Comp blue screened. Did my first round of the Masters Trophy, +10, no green grid is nails!
