The Great Big FFP Debate

Expulsion from European competition is one of the last punishments (see PSG) and by the time it gets that far the “Cartel5” will have already grown enough to meet P&L rules. The Sly6/Red and white cartel have tried for years to stop/sabotage any teams from challenging them and their place at the top, all of that is going to change soon.

You are delusional if the PL will remove FFP. The League will be destroyed.

Unfortunately the red and white clubs are big due to a hundred years of constant success. It is no different in any of the major leagues in Europe. The smaller clubs need to make their own success through organic growth. Spurs have managed it and they were small time in 90's. Majorly inferior to Newcastle United in every metric. Now they have the best stadium in the country and consistently battling for Europe whilst not splashing cash.

Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal should just make their own league get rid of all the state owned clubs and let them rot tbh.

The sad thing is that Newcastle could quite easily grow organically over the next decade to be a huge powerhouse but people cannot be bothered to do it the correct way. St James' could quite easily be converted to 80k for example with VIP and fill it every weekend. Constant Europe would attract the bigger sponsors and before you know it they are in the big 6 legit.

Are man city part of this sly6?

Which is worse, the Red and white cartel or being owned by actual cartel members

They may not have any choice in the matter, when City lose their arbitration case (which they will) city will take it to a CAT and it may turn out that the majority of the FFP rules are illegal and unenforceable.

you already tried that, it didn’t go down very well

I have no problem with that, it seems all the other clubs do though, hence all the rushed through rule changes.

I think it will be different now. Especially since the Saudi's are involved with unlimited money.

People pay to watch United, Pool, Arsenal. They are in the driving seat and will protect their interests first and foremost. Man United alone most likely has more worldwide paying fans than the combined total of the "cartel 5".

The Super League was a stupid move because they tried to make it like American sports. I am sure if City win this they will go again with a more Pyramid style league without the bad eggs. The majority of premier league teams are American/British backed so it would be naive to think they are not thinking of the future of their investments.

Have your main sponsor not been accused to have been funding terrorism?

That is irrelevant. They have paid a price to sponsor Liverpool at fair market value due to their standing in the league.

If Isis wanted to support Liverpool it is going to cost them more than it will sponsoring Luton Town.

One thing that never gets explained in any of these debates is how the sky 6 (which in this case is just 5 as it doesn't include City) have managed to get at least 14 votes for these rule changes, not to mention get a majority vote amongst the 100+ ECA clubs in Europe.

edit: The PL had no option but to adopt PSR rules because UEFA implemented FFP and 40% of the PL will be subject to those financial rules. It is why the PL are now changing their PSR rules too - UEFA have changed FFP and as such the PL will change their rules to mirror that.

Would this include newcastle spending obscene amounts of money but not winning anything and being stuck in a cycle of relegation/promotion thus not being able to cement a place among the big boys who were able to win things?

Ohh this should be interesting, please do tell me when we spent fortunes under Ashley during our “cycle of relegation/promotion”

Oh i see, the period you are taking is a tiny timeframe. So you are ignoring the majority of the 60+ years since you actually last won something. What about when John Hall was your owner?
