Well I've finally ordered my 980ti (OCUK reference design) to replace my 3 month old msi R9 295X2 as I just can't put up with the Xfire issues and AMDs terrible driver support, most games are simply unplayable. Hopefully the 980ti will actually allow me to finally play games on my gaming rig without having to struggle with a million and one issues. Now to try and sell my 295X2 without taking too big of a hit

The Classy came up cheaper elsewhere (nearer to EU RRP) and OCUK don't price match on pre-orders apparently, so I cancelled. Just the wait til next week!

i reckon the ROG one is more neutral than the nvidia and will fit more themes red or not and im sure you can turn off the led

thats why i didnt bother with the nvidia one cheapest i could find was £85

got the ROG one for £40 + 2.99 shipping

I feel i made the right choice. Now to get down to playing.

Yep did a little search last night you're right I can't have Surround enabled at the same time as DSR

Also apparently the drivers now set your 2x 4x etc to whatever it reads as native. So even though my TV can go 1920x1080 it multiplys at the native res of 1360x768.

I used CRU to change my HDTVs native res to 1920x1080. It worked and now the DSR settings for the TV can go up to 3840x2160.

However I dont think its working properly as the games have this deep dark, horrid overly coloured look to it no matter what settings I seem to try?

Not sure what the problem is if anyone has any ideas?

Also I had 2 8pins plugged into my card, I think it only needs a 6 and 8 is that right? (MSI 6G) Will this kill the card?

Think I've got an issue with my 980 ti's as I keep getting frame lag, which suggests they are getting too hot. Its either that or a dodgy driver issue :S

Quite impressed so far, max boost clock straight out the box of 1367mhz although it is jumping around a bit between 1340 and the above. Max temp was 81c with 75% fan speed (during the firestrike demo) is that normal? Card is MSI Gaming, totally silent i might add.

Without knowing your room temperature, case (and fan setup), there's not much we can say.

Case is Corsair Air 540 with the stock 140mm fans (2 at the front 1 at the back), it's got a h80 exhausting through the top. I would guess the room temp is between 25 and 30, it's quite warm in here today and i am unfortunate enough to have direct sunlight on the windows for nearly the whole day.

Yes? Nothing wrong with that of course.

From the perspective of a normal 980 Ti using stock cooler I can clearly see why you would look at it this way - not saying that is right or wrong.

Also paying good money for the Classy or KPE I'd want a GPU well-suited for the intention of blocking while offering gains to the core without needing to go crazy with volts unlike the 980 Classy fiasco and solid BIOS support as was promised by EVGA reps on other forums. Ideally same BIOS support again for those with either stock or blocked setups as 780 Ti Classy and KPE.

Next major concern that is stopping my from pre-order, besides being cheaper elsewhere and generally costing £50 more than my 780 Ti Classy at launch, is the uncertainty of the current talks with EK and EVGA in confirming Ek would go ahead and start to make blocks. The Classy is already out in the US as of 1st July and likely next week for the U. Also the the same week of the STRIX that I'm interested in offering good out the box BIOS for the past few years. Other options for hybrid that I'm glad interests people here suffering from high temps or loud fans.

Also out or coming soon: Zotac Extreme, G1, Strix, Classified and HOF so far.
Hope they'll keep Zotac promotion up a bit longer since it's been delayed. I'll have the money for it Monday evening (selling HD700s).

Anyone know why I can't change the memory on my card? It just resets to 0 when I click apply!
