Well that's me back on the green team after a decade with ATI/AMD. My 7970's served me like champs up until this year. Can't say I'll be missing crossfire though.

You can turn them off but the buzzing comes back until you turn them off again... It's silly.

If I had a spare monitor I would RMA it, but I don't anymore which is unfortunate.

Having looked at several videos on YouTube, it seems this is definitely not a brand new unit and is probably a return. I might have been OK with this if it was pre disclosed but, would you pay full price for a pre opened and possibly used 980 Ti with a bashed up box?

I have yet to test the card so, I may be able to figure it out but, I am curious to know why it was returned in the first place.

I do agree with this I suppose but, I've got this week off work and was planning to build a new system, time constraints make me think it won't be worth it asking for an actual brand new one, still need to test it to see how it performs though.

What are peoples opinions on the Zotac Amp! edition vs the Palit Jetstream? Right now I'm leaning towards the Zotac as it wouldn't clash but I'm curious if there are any major performance/sound/overclocking differences that people know about?

I know for a fact Gigabyte G1 have a plastic film on the fan cover like you mention. So at somepoint that card has being used. Send it back to us or wherever you got it from.

Drop a post in CS forum and link them to my reply here if it is from us as I know for a fact Gigabyte cards have the film on fan shroud.

My card I got from Gigabyte was brand new and even though the box/static bag was not sealed the fan cover did have a plastic film.

Your static bag also looks like it had a fight with Mike Tyson, looks used for sure.
