The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

While I don't mind pre-ordering something like a game or blu-ray which tend to meet a specific date, won't do it on a piece of hardware where nobody can say for certain when they are getting any in, and won't be fleeced on price on an already expensive piece of hardware.

I'll just keep checking til I can get one (or two) in stock and at 'reasonable' price.

And if I can't get before this weekend, will just wait for the AMD release.

doesn't pre ordering guarantee the price quoted as they are normally priced higher on a pre order to allow for this ?

yes but this time around the performance jump will make it worth waiting for and give you the time to save up the money to pay for it. :D

Well, yeah, there may be a nice performance bump...

What we will likely see is the equivalent of a 680 or 980, the smaller yes still powerful cards, but not the full fat.

Ok, there may be a Titan, but at what cost?

Will try and wait for 2nd gen die shrink.

I have a 970, and run at 1080p and have decided to upgrade to a 980ti. The 970 is a very good card, but it starts to show its limits with all of these newer games. Crisis 3 with everything on ultra suffers below 60fps with a 970, Withcher 3 is the same.

Everyone seems to think that these higher end cards are pointless for anything less than 1440p or 4K and it is simply not true. 980ti even at 4K still struggles with the newer games, getting on average 40-50fps. I don't want 40-50, I don't want 55-59, I want a full 60+ Fps and if buying a 980ti just to play at 1080p achieves that goal, then it more than justifies the price point in my opinion.

FTR, the 980 would do the same, but a TI is only £50-100 more expensive and can sometimes offer upto 30% increased performance.

The 980 just are not worth it now unless they drop the price down to 300.00 mark go with 980Ti it will almost be like having two 970 in Sil.
