The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Can i just ask what sort of voltage are people running their overclocks on? I feel like mine is low. Running 1.188v with 1550Mhz on boost clocks. Not noticed any stability issues as of yet. Just wondering what voltages other people have their 980ti at?

A rough guide is the higher the ASIC the lower the voltage you can use.

Mine don't like any extra voltage at all on air.

git... :)

1.28 @1500/4000 but room for a bit more but not too much... i can push to 1570/4050 on my EVGA SC+

ahh nice! :)

ive not touched my voltage though that's why i wasn't sure what sort of figre it should be at but from what ive seen other ppl running at, it started making me think mine was low! Might have to try and see if i can push it bit further but i feel Kaap might be right.

i think it depends on the quality of card you have. mine is running 1.28 but im watercooling. i have a EVGA SC+ and 1500/8000 for my stable OC. my temps are about 55c but not 100% sure on the vram temps but shouldbe fine due to the waterblock,

Well been running project cars @1450/200 on both cards no issues and thats with default voltage :D though 1480/2000 on 3d mark fails after about 5 minutes. i think i could hit the 1500/2000 with a little extra juice, max temps in project cars 35c lol

Do 980 Ti cards scale with more voltage well or really well.
also whats the maximum voltage these cards can get up to without damage ? being air vs water ect.

Very hard to say. I think some cards will like voltage, some not. Software readings are not always correct and AB/Precision do not show more than 1.21v, some cards have different power phase design, hybrid are cooled better but dont have as good power delivery as say the classified, some cards are voltage locked by default, some not. 1.21 seems to be what my card is locked at and when i upped it to 1.28 it boosted to around 1582mhz which is obviously too high for air. Many factors which I am slowly learning

I need to get a 9v battery for my multimeter then will test to see the actual voltage, at the moment im using an unlocked bios 'GTX980Ti_ClassyOC.rom' no voltage change but increased power limit

So, in a game below 60fps the very maximum you can gain is 5fps. It just doesn't strike me as worth it, although I accept that it's subjective.

If I can gain 5-10fps in a game that is completely stable and keeps me from dipping below 60fps at times, then why not?

Think im going to stick to 1450/2000 seems the sweat spot :D
now i just need to do more testing then i can get a better bios on the cards with higher power limit....

There is nothing to shabby about 1450 vs 1500 whats that like 1-2fps difference. anyway im on sli so running 1500 is pointless for gaming though for synthetic`s who cares lol

In that case certainly. I would be more worried about ironing out all the issues of sli :( i.e games not working at all in sli, game profiles and micro stutter :(

I've never had any big problems with SLI. 99% of my games run perfectly. I've never had micro stutter. There is a game or two with bad SLI performance. But that is usually easily fixed. Would never go back to a single card.

I have both my cards at 1480 for gaming. Can push them to about 1550 with a custom bios but they get hot and use some juice. Not worth it for an fps or two.

Both cards idle at 16-17c and max out at 40-39c after a couple hours of heavy gaming :D.

I'm loving this card

That was after serveral hours in the Divison. Definitely ordering a second at the weekend.

I don't think that is properly boosting if the Hybrid is also 1405mhz core default. +100 should give 1505mhz. Pic is too small to see but looks like 14** core clock

No,. the default core default whilst gaming is 1304. I have just tried +140 on the core with +50 increase on core voltage and appears to be ok, now running 1482. Will post an image that is viewable this evening. :)

Hey guys is this a good score for sli @ http://www.3dmark.com/fs/8172434

btw i was testing memory out and my cards seem to be able to reach 2000 quite easily.
both cards have samsung memory.....

the above run was @ default voltage 1468/2000
im quite impressed... 19c rare idle 22c avg idle 35c-39c max load depending on game
firestrike @35c max load through out the test.

Looks good to me, especially with the 4790k. Just make sure Desktop resolution is set to 1080p if you want to try bump it up a bit.

Heres my score with Ti SLI. Only on standard though :).
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10426516?

Those temps seem fine. Mine peak at about 38-39c after a few hours. Once the loop is fully warmed that is.

I think it depends on the silicone lottery rubbish, someone on here has a hybrid too and out the box it boosts to something like 1560mhz. Less voltage must be required for his or something. My classified boosts to 1405 out the box but dips down to around 1380 unless more volts are added.

Those clocking memory, just know that with added heat games may crash a few hours in as i experienced last night. Thought i had 1500/4000 stable then crashed after around an hour and a half. Think i may just run stock so i can game properly and not worry about heat, noise or crashes! The few extra fps isnt worth the hassle
