The GTX 980 Ti owners thread.

Had a bad experience today but everything is sorted now.

Nvidia drivers wouldn't recognize my card, couldn't get the display to load, every game I played crashed at the startup (Windows Installed an Update and needed to be restarted)

Now it's in and working at 1440p the Witcher is running at 45 - 60 with everything maxed except for Hairworks which is off completely. Haven't tested any other games but Razor Time has the same card as me and was getting some really nice FPS increases from him extremely overclocked and watercooled 780, I think he was getting about 30 fps + in most games at 1080p.

The Gigabyte Reference is the card I have, it kicks out some right heat. Can't keep my hand at the back of the card for long. Bought an NZXT G10 plate and the X41 from here so tomorrow I will have an AIO cooler stuck on it.

I don't have many toilet rolls so I couldn't create a nice fort like Razor Time but I did use my toilet roll wisely. I just hope this picture doesn't wipe out my chances to get on it. :D

Disclaimer: I know nothing about Nvidia cards :)

Will the card stay at 1440MHz as long as the temps stay in check? I'm struggling to understand why the base clock isn't the boost clock if it's stable at the higher speed.

EDIT: £600 for the EVGA ACX 2.0?! You'd be better off getting the Zotac AMP! Extreme with a higher base clock and 5 year warranty for £20 more.

Correct mate. Card is staying at 1440. I'm deaf.. but it stays there.

Currently trying to get cards installed.

Wasn't too bad getting the 290x's out, but going to have to bypass gpus in loop for now and run on air. Perhaps for weeks, because work!

Don't think will have much time for testing anything really. Will just be seeing if they work.

I'd like to be excited, but I can see work will be sucking the life out of me again over the next couple months :(

Superb work :D:D:D

Well, quick go on four games I am playing, or will play soon, and instantly noticed improvements.

Dragon age no longer takes ages to load and no more screen going dark after going into inventory, etc.

Hawken, no more flickering.

Witcher, doesn't run like crap and flicker like hell without x amount of tweaks.

And..... elite! Dual cards actually run which means I can finally use multi sampling !!!

Can't speak for performance much yet, but everything where multi gpus used to work on amd, performance is still up over 3 x 290x

That was stock.

Eyetrip, do me a favour and run Firestrike Ultra at stock when you've installed them. I think my score seems a little low at 7000(ish)

cheers

Si

Will try and do a run later.

Nice one man!!! Really glad you're seeing improvements ;)

And thanks, we have a similar system so the results should be similar (unless I have an issue somewhere)
