The GTX Titan X owners thread.

No it was at 4k DSR, it manages to use 10gb @ 1440p. I can't find the screenshot I was talking about but did find one using 11950mb, I have also had the game crash back to desktop because it ran out of memory.

Anyway here is the pic

My mind has been blown away by how good this card is, i owned a R9 290x prior and thought that was good.
I have noticed 0 coil whine, something i hated about my 290x, its quiet and runs much much cooler, in 3dmark i got 16500 oc the titan 200/400 and it topped out at 72c using custom profiles for the fan, my 290x 3dmark was just over 9300 but sounded like a 747 taking off and released more heat than the sun.
Debated on buying a second but i honestly don't see the need atm.

Just like to add this forum is fantastic for people like me who are fairly new to all things pc.

Regards

Mate, would really help if you could do an SLI bench of Heaven 4 at stock clocks for me.

We both have SLI MSI Titan X's and my score seems low.

Now had any performance issues in games or anything, but I would have expected 4,000ish

5930k@ 4.4Ghz
16GB 2666 DDR 4 RAM

Sure no probs. I'll have a look tomorrow morning and post some scores for you.

I don't get the whole Vram usage argument. The games with ridiculous memory usage must be caching the available memory. No way does AW require 12gb of Vram at 4K. It can be ran at 4k comfortably with 4Gb cards without any ill effects. I remember Titanfall was exactly the same, used as much Ram as it had it it's disposal.

Sounds crazy but people have reported telltale signs of VRAM running out, maybe it's just a bug who knows. Also doesn't it hitch on 4GB? Caching is one thing but if it can't empty the cells fast enough to shunt new data in you still get hitching.

I reported that I hit a VRAM limit but that was running 4K and x16 supersampling that is I think 16K or 32K resolution maxed out?

It was just a funny joke to see if this card really has 12GB :D It has 12230MB :)

I play COD:AW (a lot of it) maxed out at 4K and have never had a single hitch let alone run out of VRAM.

COD:AW just loads the whole level, players textures and such in the VRAM because it can with the Titan X. The game runs like butter and over 80 FPS on one card !

Neither my R9-290 Crossfire or GTX970 SLI setups ran the game smoothly even though the framerate was high. I was running it at 4K with everything lowered to get a non hitch experience with multi-GPU setups.

Have you ordered one Mal?

well i could right now but i dont fancy the 970 price tag on Fleebay, i'll either get the OCUK version or one of the others from here, because here is safest for RMA.

finally, you wont get the card till at least tuesday......... Bank Holiday, no courier service :(

Once again, any GPU will cache all data thrown at it, just because you see 12GB being used doesn't mean a card with 4GB will see any material degradation in performance compared.

Please read up on it before trying to correct others.

Only correcting you buddy. You said adding more cards in sli will allow more vram to be used. It does not work that way. There are rumours dx12 might allow this, which would be awesome. But as it stands it's not the case. I suggest you read up. I was trying to give you a friendly heads up hence the smilie. That is all.

Glad to see you're enjoying it. Heat for me has been a great little plus for me. My 295x2 would throttle with the front of my H440 on (it really restricts airflow) at 75 degrees, so for this one to just touch 71-72 is impressive.

I said you can push the settings, not that adding more cards gives you more VRAM, as if it stacked. Every regular knows that after about 2 weeks posting.

Now please go read and stop embarrasing yourself.
