The GTX Titan X owners thread.

Once again, any GPU will cache all data thrown at it, just because you see 12GB being used doesn't mean a card with 4GB will see any material degradation in performance compared.

I know that very well if you have read any of my benchmarks. The 12GB helps though as theres not as much swapping occuring in the frame buffer (gives a smoother experience).

I'm assuming you ordered elsewhere as OCUK's web page says they have no stock.

Others are gaming just fine at 4K with one card.

Impressive Africanos can you really tell the difference @4k id like to know?
Did you test X2MSAA?
:)

If you sit and look at specific things (and dont move at all) its a so-so you have to really squient :p. I tested with 4xMSAA but the performance hit is to big IMO for nothing special in visuals. Want me to run a quick bench now that I am at home ?

Yes please as a lot of people have jumped on this factor saying it's not a true 4k
Card but as battlefield is fast paced, really people...??? You can tell the msaa
With explosions and gun firer going. What's the performance increase with just x2 on?
My X is still in the box as waiting for other bits to arrive hopefully they come week after next.
Not sure what I did to the quote! Lol

This is running a Titan X (stock) and 3930K (stock) with 70 FOV - 4K Ultra Preset but MSAA dropped to x2

(frametime logs here)

It looked like 48ish min and around 63 max (G19 keyboards display running MSI AB) but you can do the math with the frametime log file.

Turning HBAO to SSAO gives you a good 15-20 FPS. Running OCed should yield 5-10 FPS depends ofcourse how good your card is.

Just add [/quote] to the end and it should be fine

Hi guys. So I've upgraded my pc while patiently waiting for my Titan x sc. I ordered the 4k g sync 60z acer predator which arrived yesterday. However now that I've seen the reviews for their new 1440p ips g sync monitor I'm in need of some guidence! I bought the Titan to get into 4k gaming however this new ips monitor with g sync and 144hz refresh looks really good.

I ran a 1080p g sync 144hz monitor and 780ti and had silky smooth gameplay before. My concern is would going 4k with one card ruin that smooth experience. I know the acer ips monitor would be awesome with a Titan x but I bought It for 4k. Wife would go nuts if I spent another grand on card, it's really a no go.

Just watching some benchmarks on YouTube at 4k some games run better than others. Reading the posts above about AA I was under the impression that this wasn't needed at 4k?

Just contacted OC UK about evga Titan x sc won't have any further updates on eta until Monday.

Brilliant, appreciate it.

1080p settings are in the Heaven 4.0 benchmark thread.

Here you go mate, gpu's at stock, power limit 100. My cpu runs @4.4ghz for reference. I just did the bench with no previous cycles of heaven. Both cards stayed under 80 degrees. Custom fan profile and afterburner reported max boost 1202, mainly at 1190 for pretty much most of the run with a quick dip to lowest of 1177. Hope this helps you out.

Hmm, is it worth going for Titan X or waiting for the so called 980ti??

Depends on what criteria you’re putting on the word ‘worth’

If you mean financially then No, I’d recommend to anyone who is struggling to justify the price to wait, the 980ti and 390x(if it really exists) should offer similar performance at a cheaper price point, this card offers massive opportunity for buyer’s remorse!

If the price doesn’t bother you and you mean being able to play any game out now and in the foreseeable future at max settings in 1080p, 1440p and still get a very good experience with one card on 4k then yes, it’s worth it.

*be aware I am not a Titan owner, yet, just waiting for it to arrive. So take my opinion with a pinch of salt right now

x2 titan X sli OC at 4k gives you 60fps or near enough and with g-sync that's perfect on all the latest games maxed out with no AA or SMAA injection. 1 card is low enough fps for me that control is laggier and not so nice at circa 40fps or under.
At 1440p you won't dip under 60fps and will hover between 70-90 fps max settings and same AA on the latest titles i tested. So for 1 gpu depending on the types of games you play 1440p is super slick and 4k is fine but is more difficult with games involving aiming. Difficult choice to make depends on your gaming priorities i guess.

Im thinking of water cooling my titans when they turn up :D cant wait.

Pretty new to WC so I wanted to run a basket past silent scone

I have a rampage V MB wasnt sure if i had to get a certain bridge for the MB

Yeah I'd rather it be silky smooth rather than dipping towards 30fps. I would love to run games at 4k but I'm sure I would get a bit frustrated with the low fps in some games. Another card would help but I've got other priorities.
Guess the better option for me would be the new acer ips monitor, just need to return this 4k one that arrived yesterday.

I would get a few more opinions first but yes you won't be hitting 60fps on the latest games maxed with no AA like DA inquisition, dying light, etc on 1 gpu. G-sync works best from 40-60 fps at 4k but the controls lag wise will not be in the same league as 70-80fps for example at 1440p even though it looks smooth in motion. 1440p will also give you some more room for more taxing future games as well.
