Hmm, is it worth going for Titan X or waiting for the so called 980ti??
The card isn't something you will buy if your looking for bang for buck.
Depending on what monitor you run a normal 1080p or 1440p monitor a 980Ti if not very much slower than the Titan X with 6GB VRAM should be sufficient.
If your running 1440p (120-144hz) or a 4K monitor grab the Titan X for more VRAM and power.
I would get a few more opinions first but yes you won't be hitting 60fps on the latest games maxed with no AA like DA inquisition, dying light, etc on 1 gpu. G-sync works best from 40-60 fps at 4k but the controls lag wise will not be in the same league as 70-80fps for example at 1440p even though it looks smooth in motion. 1440p will also give you some more room for more taxing future games as well.
Those are the only 2 games + Witcher 2 Ubersampling (all at 4K) that aren't running very high FPS for me. Dropping a few settings here and there I get to the 60 FPS mark.
