The GTX Titan X owners thread.

I maybe joining the club either today or within a week. I was never going to pay so much but I'm really getting sold. The vram would be great for some time at1440p I think

definitely but take care because mine is almost 5 slots deep and really heavy, and all the other tripple coolers are too, but you cant beat its performance over stock.....

but to be honest, the more you game the more you get used to the noise of the Reference cooler

AIO is all in one watercooled, similar to the 295X2. The cooler will be the same size as stock, other then the rad obviously.

you definitely cant get the GPU cooler head underneath the Reference shroud, the base of the ref cooler is a square hole that's too small to allow the Radiator cooler head to pass through and attach directly to the Board........

There you go, a picture sais a thousand words :cool:

you can not copy the 295X2 without cutting out the base of the Ref cooler and it'll be a real bitch to cut out, the base of the Ref cooler is pretty damned thick and very heavily constructed.......... not even i would attempt this

After seeing how well GTA V scales with SLI I'm being tempted to go 980 SLI over my single Titan X, thing is I know I'll regret it when I start playing other games that don't scale as well.

Only thing is with everything maxed at 1440p on the Titan X, GTA V reports 5gb VRAM but I don't know if it's just using that much because it can.

Put another Titan X in there for some SLI action on GTA V, plus you won't have to worry about memory usage.:)

I could afford to but my point being SLI 980 would offer me better performance in some titles than the Titan X and would cost me nothing at the moment.

I'm not even sure my micro atx asus maximus gene v would be good for 2 cards anyway, the spacing is tight and I'm not sure it does 16x in SLI

Stick with your X :)

Bigger bus and more than enough Vram

you'll still have screen issues with either SLI or a single card, my TX has exactly the same micro-stutter as the 970SLI, in exactly the same games and exactly the same locations....i.e looking at the Airport Runway in FAR CRY 3..

it's a bit odd, but my PC is the same as before. which tells you that the faults lie in the games.... i would not buy a TX to improve screen quality, because it definitely wont.......future drivers might help though

i've just refitted the Arctic air cooler, it needed supporting at the end of the board and also at the end of the cooler, but it looks ok.

i'll give it a few days and if i still have doubts i'll return it to stock for good.

i haven't tested it yet, its upside down while the sealent cures :D:D

it is, but it gives you future proofing

Yeah very true mate. Think I'll go 4K in the future when I can pick up a couple of screens for a decent price.

But you loose the prettiness of 1440p.. Looking at the benchmarks and stuff it looks like the TX was made for forever lasting 1440p goodness!

Yeah I had problems with my 1440P screen, turns out not only am I sensitive to micro stutter, but sitting to close to a 32" 1440P monitor made me feel really ill when gaming lol. I must just have sensitive eyes :p

Not only that but the screen had banding issues etc so I'm using two Dell's had one already and really like it, picked up the other from OCUK B grade, it's in great condition. I'm giving my 32" 1440P to my kids, they don't have weird eye sensitivity like me :p. Don't use PC anywhere near as much either lol.

So I'm running 2 x Dell UltraSharp U2414H 24 inch, looks nicer on the desk having two screens the same.

In the future I might move to 2 x 25" / 27" 4K screens. I'll wait till prices are much cheaper and GPU's are much more powerful.

So anyone have any info on warranty. It looks like the titan x I can grab is either palit or msi not zotac. Who's got the better service? Looks like I have to wait a week too

Are you running a Titan X with a 1080p 60hz monitor?

Would i be stupid to buy a titan now and put it under water, or get two 980ti's and put them on water in a month or so (whenever they are released?)

1440p gaming. All the biggest now, and up n coming titles.

Really? I found using a TX cured all my stutter/ microstutter issues in the games I had issues with in SLI (780Ti). Far Cry 3 was one game I tested a lot too that has terrible SLI stutter no matter what. (I'm something of an obsessive about stutter in games, and trying to get rid).
